Job Description

The role:

Our Institutional Consultant Relations Team is looking for a Director, Consultant Relations to partner with the team of Managing Directors, Consultant Relations in executing our strategic plan with investment consultants.  The role entails a critical focus on engaging with the research teams of our most significant consultant relationships to help achieve buy ratings, OCIO platform allocations, and new institutional mandates.  Our Consultant Relations team establishes indispensable partnerships with consultants by delivering Invesco’s full-range of investment capabilities to drive industry-leading institutional success.  The team serves as a critical “Voice of Consultants” for Invesco to help keep our consultants, and their clients, at the center of everything we do. 

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Serving as an example to others of a high-performance culture, both internally and externally, to ensure a strong pace of execution for our consultants.
  • Aligning our consultants’ research priorities with Invesco’s leading capabilities to elevate our brand awareness and deepen our relationships with consultants. 
  • Partnering with our Managing Directors, Consultant Relations to maintain and build relationships with some of our largest investments consultants, while leading the full effort on a few additional firms.
  • Collaborating with the MD’s to set the research agenda for prioritized strategies as well as lead research engagement for investment strategies to be newly rated, upgraded or maintained by delivering an industry-leading due diligence experience for Consultant research teams.
  • Cultivating strong, trust-based relationships with consultant research teams at all levels (leadership, analysts, operational due diligence, etc.)
  • Collaborating seamlessly with investment teams to ensure ongoing alignment of current ratings, opportunity pipeline, RFP’s, assets-at-risk, search activity and industry trends.
  • Maintaining key intelligence on each consulting firms’ research priorities by engaging with research staff directly, reviewing Capital Market Assumptions, manager search reports and other relevant intel to help set our research agenda.
  • Credibly representing the voice of Consultants at Invesco, from a consultant research perspective.  The Director will ensure frequent consultant insights (e.g. meeting notes, conference insights, whitepapers, etc.) are shared with key internal stakeholders to elevate our shared knowledge and ability to deliver value for consultants and their institutional clients.
  • Coordinating with Sales team to achieve our organic AUM and revenue growth targets with institutional investors.

Requirements of the role:

  • A strong network of relationships with top consultant firms is preferred.
  • Exceptional investment acumen, with strong expertise in manager due diligence, portfolio analytics, portfolio construction, and capital markets.
  • Expert sales discipline, with a proven history of a consultative, client-centric sales process.
  • Strong working knowledge across a full range of investment capabilities and various investment vehicles (separate accounts, collective trusts, mutual funds, ETF’s, private placements, etc.)
  • 10+ years of experience with institutional consultants and/or clients.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • CFA, CAIA, MBA or similar accreditations (or progress toward) is preferred, but not required.
  • Series 7 and 63 required.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $225,000/ year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
