The Role

Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

As a Consult Partner, you will build senior business and technology relationships with energy clients and Kyndryl account teams, translating strategy into value-based outcomes. You will lead small, high-performing teams across multiple engagements—advancing your career in one of the fastest-growing IT consulting businesses globally.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead consultative sales pursuits—shaping client strategies, roadmaps, and modernization programs across the Kyndryl Consult portfolio

  • Leverage established relationships across downstream and midstream oil & gas and oilfield services to open doors and build pipeline

  • Build and sustain executive relationships with client leaders and internal stakeholders

  • Originate, develop, and close new business aligned to C-suite priorities and measurable outcomes

  • Partner with account leadership on account planning; lead pursuit teams through solutioning, proposal development, and negotiation to drive growth

  • Apply expertise in hyperscaler platforms and agentic AI to identify client needs and land opportunities (e.g., Kyndryl Agentic AI Framework, agentic AI-aided mainframe modernization, agentic AI-aided software modernization

  • Provide industry and technical thought leadership—sharing POVs, success stories, and proven modernization principles

  • Identify land-and-expand opportunities that scale from consulting entry points to enterprise transformation programs

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months):

  • Build a qualified pipeline within priority downstream/midstream accounts, with clear pursuit plans and named executive sponsors

  • Close initial consulting wins and position follow-on work by tying solutions to measurable business outcomes (safety, reliability, uptime, margin, cost, and time-to-value)

  • Establish trusted-advisor status with C-suite and VP-level leaders, evidenced by repeatable access, invitations to strategic conversations, and expanded scope

  • Lead high-quality assessments, workshops, and roadmap engagements that convert to delivery, with strong client satisfaction and clear value realization

  • Create a visible point of view in your domain (e.g., cloud modernization, data/AI, agentic AI, mainframe modernization), contributing to go-to-market assets and executive briefings

  • Mobilize and mentor pursuit and delivery teams—building repeatable playbooks, strengthening partner alignment, and improving deal velocity

Kyndryl currently does not require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, however, if you are hired to work at a client, customer, or partner location, you may be required to show proof of vaccination to align with their respective COVID-19 vaccination policies.  Those who believe they are eligible may apply for a medical or religious accommodation prior to the start of employment.

Who You Are

You’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important – you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused – someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you’re open and borderless – naturally inclusive in how you work with others.

Required Expertise & Education:

  • Proven track record in IT consulting (preferably with a top-tier global firm), consistently achieving sales, business development, and growth targets

  • 10+ years of experience in oil & gas consulting and technology services sales, with a consistent record of closing and expanding executive-level engagements

  • Learning agility and industry curiosity—turning energy market insight and competitive context into differentiated solutions; building fluency in agentic AI and its business impact

  • Experience delivering workshops, assessments, strategies, roadmaps, designs, and deployment plans

  • Track record of designing and leading client transformation programs that deliver optimization and modernization outcomes

  • Track record of developing and expanding client relationships with executive focus

  • Executive presence and strong communication—able to frame business problems, align stakeholders, and present transformation narratives that resonate with both business and IT leaders

  • Differentiated downstream/midstream and oilfield services expertise, including leading digital transformation for large enterprise clients

  • Deep knowledge of oil & gas business and technology domains, including modern platforms, data, and transformation patterns

  • Practical understanding of agentic AI use cases in energy and the ability to translate them into client value and sellable engagements

  • Strong grasp of IT and business trends, client pain points, competitive landscape, and peer benchmarks

  • Demonstrated ability to shape large complex, multi-competency deals across the Kyndryl technology practices portfolio

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business, economics, engineering, and computer science. Master’s degree in a similar field or MBA preferred

Bonus Professional & Technical Expertise:

  • Experience developing and negotiating Statements of Work and Master Service Agreement contracts through deal closure

  • Development of business cases with return-on-investment analysis

  • Hands-on experience with hyperscalers, including large-scale cloud optimization, migration, and modernization programs and partner motions

  • Ability to articulate modern software engineering and operations models (e.g., cloud native, DevOps, SRE, AIOps) and the path to a target operating model (people, process, technology)

  • Stay current on emerging technologies (including agentic AI) and communicate practical oil & gas applications with credibility
