Position Summary

The Director of Campaign Operations & Communications serves as a key leader in the execution and operational management of UWGA's multi-year fundraising campaign. This role translates campaign strategy into action by overseeing campaign operations, CRM and data strategy, project management, donor engagement processes, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.

The Director ensures campaign activities, systems, and stakeholders remain aligned while providing the infrastructure necessary to support fundraising success, donor stewardship, campaign leadership, and long-term growth.


Key Responsibilities

Campaign Operations, Data & Reporting

  • Lead campaign operations, systems, reporting, and data governance.
  • Serve as the primary owner of CRM strategy, data integrity, opportunity management, donor records, and reporting.
  • Develop dashboards, pipeline reports, performance metrics, and forecasting tools.
  • Manage campaign financial tracking, donor commitments, pledge fulfillment, and reconciliation processes.
  • Partner with Development and Finance teams to ensure accurate, actionable campaign data.

Project Management & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead project management for major campaign initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain campaign work plans, implementation calendars, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate efforts across Development, Finance, Marketing, Executive Leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, remove barriers, and drive accountability for campaign priorities.

Campaign Leadership Support

  • Manage operational planning and coordination for Campaign Cabinet meetings, leadership meetings, prospect strategy sessions, and other campaign forums.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and follow-up action plans.
  • Track decisions, assignments, and commitments to maintain momentum and accountability.

Donor Engagement & Proposal Management

  • Oversee systems and processes supporting donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement.
  • Manage proposal development workflows, including coordination, review, approvals, and delivery.
  • Track donor activity, commitments, proposals, and follow-up actions.
  • Support campaign leadership in advancing donor strategies and engagement opportunities.

Events & Strategic Engagement

  • Lead planning and execution of campaign events, donor engagements, and Campaign Cabinet activities.
  • Coordinate logistics, communications, stakeholder engagement, speaker preparation, and event follow-up.
  • Ensure events support broader fundraising and campaign goals.

Systems, Documentation & Operational Excellence

  • Establish and maintain campaign documentation, knowledge management, and file management systems.
  • Develop and continuously improve standard operating procedures and workflows.
  • Implement tools and processes that improve efficiency, scalability, accountability, and data quality.
  • Support long-term campaign continuity through strong operational infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in fundraising operations, campaign management, development operations, project management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems, data management, reporting, and performance dashboards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with senior leaders, volunteers, donors, and cross-functional teams

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Project Management, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising operations, campaign management, development operations, project management, or a related field
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems, data management, reporting, and performance dashboards
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with senior leaders, volunteers, donors, and cross-functional teams
