The Director of Business Intelligence (BI) provides strategic and operational leadership for agency data, analytics, and reporting. This role aligns business intelligence initiatives with organizational strategy, clinical and operational priorities, regulatory requirements, and performance goals. The Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for data architecture, data governance, reporting standards, and analytics solutions that support informed decision-making across clinical, financial, operational, and executive leadership teams.
The position oversees the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of data warehouses, reporting platforms, and analytics tools, while leading and developing a high-performing BI team. The Director of Business Intelligence ensures data integrity, accessibility, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.

- Strategy & Leadership-Develops and leads the organization’s business intelligence strategy in alignment with enterprise strategic goals, clinical quality initiatives, and operational priorities. Translates business, clinical, and regulatory requirements into scalable BI architecture, analytics solutions, dashboards, and reporting frameworks. Serves as a strategic advisor to executive leaders, providing insights and recommendations based on data trends and performance analysis.
- Data Architecture & Analytics-Oversees the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and analytics platforms. Directs data sourcing, integration, migration, quality assurance, and transformation processes, including ETL/ELT functions. Manages the design and optimization of data models, dimensional schemas, cubes, and historical reporting structures to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs. Ensures BI solutions deliver accurate, timely, relevant, and intuitive information for clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders.
- Governance, Quality & Compliance- Leads data governance efforts, establishing and maintaining data standards, definitions, policies, and best practices to ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability. Ensures compliance with healthcare data regulations, privacy, and security requirements, partnering with Compliance, Privacy, and IT Security as appropriate. Monitors and improves data quality, availability, and integrity across clinical, financial, and operational systems.
- Reporting, Projects & Operations- Oversees BI and analytics projects from initiation through implementation, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and status reporting. Collaborates with clinical, finance, human resources, operations, and executive teams to define reporting requirements and deliver value-added analytics solutions. Coordinates internal and external resources, including vendors and partners, to support data integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives. Drives innovation in reporting, dashboards, self-service analytics, and visualization tools to support performance improvement and population health insights.
- Collaboration & Communication- Fosters strong cross-functional partnerships and communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Supports organizational change initiatives by providing trusted data insights and analytical support.
- Leadership & Supervision- Provides direct leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members to foster professional growth, excellence, and strong service delivery. Establishes performance expectations, conducts evaluations, and supports goal-setting for all supervised staff. Builds and maintains a collaborative, high-performing team through effective communication, training, and continuous improvement. Oversees workload distribution, resource planning, and staffing recommendations to ensure operational efficiency. Promotes a culture of accountability, customer service, and innovation across the organization.

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Formal certifications such as MCSA: SQL Server, or MCSE Business Intelligence preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data management, including leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience designing and supporting enterprise BI and data warehouse solutions.
- Strong technical experience with database platforms, analytics tools, and reporting environments
- Advanced knowledge of business intelligence, data warehousing, and analytics concepts
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and performance metrics
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, regulated healthcare environment
- Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, be 21 years of age with a minimum of 4 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy
- Must successfully pass a TB screening and criminal background check

Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
