Cybervance is seeking a Business Development Manager to play a highly visible role in advancing the company’s growth strategy across the federal cybersecurity market.

Working closely with company leadership, the Business Development Manager will help identify and qualify new opportunities, support capture efforts, expand strategic partnerships and teaming relationships, and contribute to disciplined pipeline growth aligned with company objectives.

For the right individual, this role offers meaningful advancement potential, including a path toward promotion to Director of Business Development.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate partnerships, teaming, and relationship management. Develop and maintain relationships with Cybervance clients, teaming firms, and staff to support rapid and effective teaming, pursuits, and market expansion. Work closely with operations staff and leadership team to develop and sustain positive relationships with individuals to organizational entities. Develop teaming strategies including negotiating teaming arrangements, workshare assignments, and other teaming elements. Coordinate plans and actions with operational staff and the executive leadership team.
  • Develop business development forecasts, sales activities, marketing strategies, and marketing campaigns. Identify market trends, markets, potential clients, and growth opportunities linked to current and expanding Cybervance capabilities. Plan and conduct marketing, outreach, and client communications to identify and develop new opportunities. Includes creating and executing forecasts, the business development pipeline, call plans, marketing plans, conference participation, partner outreach, thought leadership, and targeted customer engagement activities.
  • Manage the Cybervance business development capture process. Identify and pursue growth opportunities across the federal civilian and defense cybersecurity / IT services market, with primary emphasis on U.S. Government agencies and strategic contract vehicles aligned to Cybervance’s growth priorities. Forecast, track and manage opportunities using objective assessments and the business development pipeline to ensure the capture process is lean, efficient, and focused on opportunities with acceptable win probabilities. Support and coach Program and Project Managers to leverage and grow client relationships and opportunities.
  • Lead the Business Development process. Coordinate the actions and activities of the proposal support personnel, marketing assistant(s), proposal writers/editors, and media development. Maintain the Cybervance proposal library including proposals, past performance citations (CPARS, JP6, etc.), media, and other elements.
  • Develop and manage the business development budget per annual plan ensuring cost efficient allocation, execution, and return on investment.
  • Establish key business development operation performance indicators (KPIs) including pipeline development / management, forecasts, bid and proposal operations, and win rates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or a related technical field. At least ten years of practical senior level business development experience.
  • Strong track record of 3-5 years of experience in the federal and military space as a business development manager with experience managing the full spectrum of lead generation, sales, marketing and proposal response operations. Skilled at using market research and lead generation to align company capabilities and business development operations with market trends and contracting opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, team building, relationship management, and proven ability to successfully coordinate cross-functional business development and proposal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely and positively with executive leadership team and operational program staff to drive initiatives and collaboratively develop business development goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrable performance track record including win rates vs. pursuits, total contract value won/awarded, pipeline size and accuracy.
