The Gogo Director of Business Development & Strategy develops, plans, and coordinates company-wide commercial strategies to maximize company return on investment across sales and product programs. This role is responsible for the effective identification, selection, leadership and direction of Gogo’s B2B partnerships in relation to the business’ commercial strategy.
You will work closely with the Sales, Product Management, Engineering and Leadership teams to ensure internal and external relationships are closely aligned and consistent across the business for identification, pursuit, close, and execution for an outstanding customer experience. The right candidate drives commercial management and the long-term customer experience and company market positioning for all company growth initiatives.

How will you make a difference?
- Establish commercial goals and objectives for external relationships with suppliers and partners with specific focus on key initiatives that drive the overall growth and positioning of the company in the market
- Provide leadership, oversight, and direction of the corporate strategic roadmap and market positioning
- Enhance business growth by seeking new growth areas, cross-selling new products, and identifying ideas for new products and services
- Report commercial activities and recommendations to executive leadership
- Work closely with the Sales, Product Management, Operations, Marketing & Business Development Leaders to assist in developing a cohesive and executable strategic plan Addresses the market needs for hardware and software programs and a well-defined “Go to Market” commercial strategy.
- Set commercial targets with relevant departments on new initiatives designed to optimize sales volume or of strategic importance, including measures related to cost, quality and time
- Deliver reports to senior leadership on the progress of all activities to pre-set targets
- Manage external vendor relationships including contract negotiations and renegotiations in the best interest of Gogo and its strategic goals
- Formulate new and progressive commercial concepts to establish the company as a leader in a global marketplace
- Maintain and constantly works with the management team to improve the company's competitive position in the marketplace
- Actively participate in the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic, sales and marketing and capture plans, budgets, goals and outcomes to drive commercial goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- 10-12 years’ experience in business development in the Aviation, Telecom, and or Satcom industries
- 5-7 years leading, mentoring, and coaching a team
Required Skills, Talents & Experience
- Proven track record of successfully leading business development and marketing initiatives in a complex and competitive environment
- Ability to define and negotiate contracts on the company’s behalf with external parties providing analysis for senior leadership on ROI
- Can think strategically while being detail-oriented and results-driven

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Equal Pay Disclosure(s)
Base Pay:
129,600.00 - 162,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 20% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
