Our customer is looking for a Director Business Development based in Belgaum (Belagavi), Karnataka to drive local business growth and build a repeatable sales engine in Belgaum and nearby regions.
This is not an investment role and not a salary-first position. We are looking for someone with exceptional ability to drive sales, build relationships locally, generate pipeline, close deals consistently, and scale a small sales team. Compensation will be structured around a profit-sharing / revenue-share model linked to performance and collections.
Local Market Ownership: Full ownership of Belgaum + surrounding territory growth.
Profit-Sharing Model: Strong upside tied directly to results (not salary-first).
Build Your Team: Opportunity to hire, train, and lead a local sales team as business scales.
Fast Decision Making: Direct access to leadership; quick approvals and support.
Full Support for Delivery: Technical team support for demos, solutioning, and implementation handover.
Lead Generation & Prospecting
Generate leads through field visits, local networking, referrals, events, associations, and outbound calling.
Build partner/referral channels (CAs, consultants, local business groups).
Sales Execution (End-to-End)
Conduct discovery meetings, qualify opportunities, and coordinate demos with the internal team.
Prepare proposals, negotiate, close deals, and ensure collection-focused follow-through.
Maintain pipeline hygiene with clear next steps, follow-ups, and forecasting.
Territory Growth
Create and execute a territory plan for Belgaum + nearby areas.
Identify top industry segments and build repeatable pitches and offerings.
Team Building
Recruit, train, and manage sales executives/BDRs as traction grows.
Set weekly/monthly targets, activity metrics, reporting rhythm, and accountability.
Customer Relationship & Expansion
Build long-term customer relationships for renewals, referrals, and upsell opportunities.
Gather market feedback and help refine messaging and go-to-market approach.
Requirements
Proven success in B2B sales (IT services, software, solutions, SaaS, or consulting preferred).
Strong local selling ability and willingness to do on-ground field sales in and around Belgaum.
Ability to independently run the full sales cycle: prospect → qualify → propose → close → follow-up for collections.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability and intent to scale a team and drive performance through targets and discipline.
Comfort using basic tools for sales tracking (CRM/Excel/Google Sheets, WhatsApp/email outreach).
Preferred
Existing network in Belgaum / North Karnataka business circles.
Experience selling CRM/ERP, automation, digital transformation, or business process solutions.
