About Kalkomey

Kalkomey Enterprises is the trusted guide to outdoor success. Our platform connects millions of people to the outdoors every year, and we are the leading provider of safety-related education for outdoor recreational activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and more across North America. Since our founding in 1995, we’ve expanded to offer over 360 high-quality online educational courses, a suite of integrated web and mobile applications, and resources tailored to ensure outdoor enthusiasts recreate safely and successfully.

We believe in making data central to our decisions — from improving engagement to optimizing marketing, product effectiveness, and business growth. To help us scale that, we’re looking for a strategic leader who will shape our analytics & insights direction, ensuring insights are timely, accurate, and actionable.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and lead the Analytics vision and roadmap, aligning closely with company strategy, OKRs, and growth goals.

  • Build, manage, and mentor a small but high-performing team of Data Analysts.

  • Partner cross-functionally (Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance) to identify key metrics, design experiments (A/B testing, user cohorts, funnels), and surface actionable insights.

  • Own data visualization and analytics infrastructure in collaboration with Data Engineering / IT to ensure data integrity, scalability, and reliability.

  • Ensure reporting and dashboards (executive-level, product, marketing, operational) are accurate, timely, user-friendly, and visually intuitive.

  • Translate complex data sets into clear narratives and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Establish and enforce data governance, metric definitions, platform/tool standards, and access controls.

  • Monitor business performance through metrics and KPIs; provide guidance and course-correction as needed.

  • Stay current on analytics trends, tools, and best practices; recommend investments in analytics/BI platforms and approaches.

What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related data role, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role managing teams.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing analytics infrastructures: dashboards, reporting tools, and Data Governance.

  • Strong hands-on with SQL / querying, data modeling, and some familiarity with modern data stacks (e.g. dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

  • Experience with BI / visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker)

  • Demonstrated ability to drive insights from product, marketing, and customer data: funnel analysis, retention, attribution, cohorts, experiments.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present to senior leadership, non-technical stakeholders; translate data into business impact.

  • Strong strategic thinking; ability to see the big picture and synthesize multiple data sources.

  • Comfortable in ambiguous or fast-paced environments; able to prioritize across many projects and deadlines.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in education / online learning / digital content platforms.

  • Experience in outdoor, recreation, or mission-driven organizations.

  • Prior experience leading analytics in a SaaS or subscription-based business.

  • Experience with experimentation platforms / AB testing frameworks.

What We Offer:

In addition to a competitive salary and annual bonus, we offer these great benefits:

  • Employer matched 401(k)
  • Medical/Dental/Vision insurance with generous employer contributions (including HSA)
  • Maternity and Paternity leave and benefits
  • 3 weeks paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, a paid community service day, and a flexible work schedule
  • Annual wellness allowance, as well as a paid mental health day once a year for when you need it
  • Automatic WFH contribution to each paycheck
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
