Cherry Creek Family Offices (CCFO) is an independent investment advisor and full-service multi-family office located in Denver, Colorado. CCFO serves approximately 20 families across the country providing investment advisory, accounting, and family administration. The Director of Accounting and Client Service role reports to the Vice President of Accounting.

Purpose

The Director of Accounting provides strategic leadership for the accounting and financial administration of complex, multi-generational ultra-high-net-worth families, trusts, partnerships, and private investment entities. Serving as a trusted advisor, this role oversees the delivery of comprehensive accounting, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, and family office services while partnering closely with investment, tax, estate planning, and fiduciary professionals to provide an integrated client experience.

The Director ensures exceptional client service, technical accounting excellence, operational efficiency, and strong governance across multiple family relationships. This position is responsible for delivering highly customized financial solutions while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and fiduciary responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities

Family Office Accounting

  • Accounting operations supporting ultra-high-net-worth families, family offices, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, private foundations, and special purpose entities.
  • Direct preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple family entities.
  • Oversee consolidated reporting across complex ownership structures and multiple legal entities.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of investment accounts, banking relationships, private investments, and alternative assets.
  • Develop accounting procedures that accommodate each family's unique financial objectives and reporting requirements.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary accounting relationship manager for assigned family office clients.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with family members, family executives, attorneys, tax advisors, investment professionals, and trustees.
  • Present financial results, liquidity analysis, budgeting, and cash flow reporting to clients and family leadership.
  • Coordinate family meetings and provide financial insights supporting long-term wealth preservation.

Cash Management & Treasury

  • Direct family cash management operations including treasury management, banking, bill pay, and cash forecasting.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls surrounding disbursements and financial transactions.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Lead development of annual family operating budgets.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Assist families with long-term financial forecasting.
  • Support liquidity planning associated with significant life events, business sales, philanthropic initiatives, and estate transitions.

Tax & Estate Planning Coordination

  • Partner closely with internal and external tax advisors.
  • Coordinate tax information packages supporting individual, trust, partnership, foundation, and business tax returns.
  • Support estate planning strategies through accurate accounting and entity administration.
  • Coordinate documentation supporting gifting strategies, trusts, and generational wealth transfers.

Investment Accounting

  • Oversee accounting and investment reporting using Addepar.
  • Coordinate investment reporting with internal CIO and investment advisory teams.
  • Ensure investment accounting accurately reflects capital calls, distributions, valuations, and partnership activity.

Requirements

Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses required to perform essential functions

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or MBA preferred

Professional Certifications (Preferred)

  • CPA
  • CFA
  • CGMA
  • Certified Family Office Professional (CFOP)
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) (preferred)

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience serving ultra-high-net-worth families or family offices
  • Experience with trust accounting, partnership accounting, and complex ownership structures
  • Strong understanding of investment accounting and alternative investments
  • Experience working with estate planning, tax planning, and fiduciary administration
  • Public accounting experience

Work Environment and Physical Demands required to perform essential functions

· Moderate noise (business office with computers, phone, printers, light traffic)

· Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time

· Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone

· Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work
