Summary:

In this role, you will lead solution engineering and business development for Vizient’s Procure-to-Pay (P2P) portfolio, guiding a team that translates client needs into tailored solutions that drive growth and value under the formal title of Director, P2P Solution Engineering & Business Development. You will oversee demonstrations, proposals, pricing support, sales enablement, and pursuit activities while identifying market trends, emerging technologies, and strategic partnerships that inform portfolio strategy. You will collaborate across Sales, Account Management, Product Management, Marketing, Operations, and external partners to strengthen market positioning, advance growth opportunities, and lead responsible adoption of AI-enabled ways of working.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the P2P Solution Engineering team, establishing best practices for demonstrations, proposals, and sales support.

  • Partner with Sales, Account Management, Product Management, Marketing, and Operations to develop tailored solutions that address client needs and drive growth.

  • Oversee client discovery, solution design workshops, executive presentations, product demonstrations, pricing strategies, proposals, and sales enablement materials.

  • Lead RFP and RFI responses and other client inquiries to strengthen pursuit effectiveness and support successful business expansion.

  • Manage sales pipeline activity, solution engineering performance metrics, and business development opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.

  • Represent P2P solutions in client meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and external events to strengthen market presence and identify growth opportunities.

  • Evaluate market trends, competitive offerings, emerging technologies, industry practices, and Voice of Customer insights to recommend portfolio enhancements and new solutions.

  • Collaborate with Product Management and business leaders on solution strategy, roadmaps, market assessments, business cases, and partnership, acquisition, investment, and divestiture opportunities.

  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage strategic relationships with vendors, suppliers, technology partners, and other external organizations to strengthen solution capabilities and client value.

  • Lead AI adoption across the function, balancing innovation, governance, quality, and organizational change while advancing responsible AI-enabled ways of working.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing professional-level employees and teams.

  • Demonstrated success supporting complex sales cycles through client presentations, proposals, pricing strategies, and executive-level engagements.

  • Experience developing responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other client procurement processes.

  • Strong business acumen with experience in market research, competitive analysis, business case development, strategic partnerships, and identification of growth opportunities.

  • Knowledge of healthcare supply chain, procure-to-pay operations, spend management, sourcing, purchasing, contract management, or related technology-enabled solutions preferred.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, analytical, negotiation, and project management skills with the ability to influence across a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Broad understanding of AI’s business impact with the ability to lead teams in adopting responsible AI-enabled ways of working.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
