Description of the Team and the Role 

Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking a motivated Digital Test Engineering full time to join our ADEF and Communications business unit at our Raleigh, NC campus. This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering who are eager to apply their Digital Design Verification knowledge to real-world challenges. 

 

As a Digital test engineer, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in developing and validating test solutions for advanced mixed-signal ICs and RF transceivers with high digital content. You will contribute to test program development, pattern generation, device characterization, and yield optimization, playing a key role in ensuring ADI’s high standards of quality, reliability, and performance. 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: As a Digital Test Engineer you will:

  • Develop digital test solutions and wafer probe applications for RF transceivers and mixed-signal ICs with complex digital content. 

  • Generate ATPG patterns for SCAN and JTAG using tools such as Cadence Encounter and create MBIST patterns for SRAM testing. 

  • Prepare tester-specific software and debug digital test patterns on ATE systems (e.g., NI STS, 93K). 

  • Perform device characterization, including thermal and electrical testing, define digital timing specifications, improve yield, and support cost reduction initiatives. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing an MS degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field). 

  • Knowledge of memory concepts, DFT and Digital verification techniques. 

  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals and digital circuit design. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding Highspeed interface protocols like JESD, HSCI, UCIe, Ethernet. 

  • Familiarity with circuit simulation and/or software development tools. 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, DAQ, electronic load, etc.). 

  • Experience debugging circuits and troubleshooting test setups. 

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
