Position Summary

The Digital Marketing & Growth Manager manages the development and execution of data-informed digital marketing strategies that expand Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s reach, strengthen engagement, generate qualified leads, and contribute to measurable growth in girl membership, adult volunteers, program participation, events, product programs, philanthropy, and other organizational priorities.

 

Working within the Council’s overall marketing and brand strategy, this position provides specialized digital expertise to the organization and serves as a strategic resource to Marketing Communications leadership and cross-functional teams. This position requires a strong combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. This role understands how to build audiences, tell compelling stories, create engaging digital and video content, generate leads, interpret performance data, and turn digital engagement into measurable organizational growth.

 

At Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, most of our roles work in a hybrid capacity (in office, remote, and/or in the field). Details will be provided during the interview process.

This position is full time with a competitive minimum annualized salary of $58,790. 


Essential Job Duties

  • Lead the day-to-day strategy, content gathering and creation, management, publishing, monitoring, and optimization of Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s social media presence across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other current and emerging channels.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated social media content calendar aligned with Council priorities, programs, campaigns, events, partnerships, membership recruitment, product programs, philanthropy, and key organizational moments.
  • Ensure digital campaigns and content maintain alignment with Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri and Girl Scouts of the USA brand standards, Council policies, privacy expectations, media permissions, and established communication protocols.
  • Manage social media community engagement processes, including monitoring comments, messages, mentions, and conversations to ensure timely, appropriate, and brand-aligned responses. Identify compelling storytelling opportunities to amplify positive stories, partnerships, accomplishments, and organizational impact across the Council’s 28-County service area.
  • Build digital campaigns and audience engagement strategies designed to move audiences from awareness and engagement to inquiry, registration, membership, participation, digital fundraising, or other desired actions.
  • Manage and optimize paid digital advertising across appropriate social media, search, display, video, and emerging digital channels.
  • Conceptualize short-form video and other digital content strategy and production for current and emerging social media formats and channels.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators and benchmarks for digital marketing, social media, video, paid media, and lead-generation activities.
  • Translate digital analytics into clear insights and actionable recommendations that strengthen content strategy, paid and organic performance, and audience conversion.
  • Partner with internal teams across the Council to understand organizational priorities and translate those needs into effective digital campaigns.
  • Manage relationships with assigned digital marketing vendors, agencies, freelancers, photographers, videographers, and other creative partners, as appropriate.
  • Serve as the Council’s internal subject-matter expert for digital marketing, social media, digital content, video, audience growth, and lead generation.
  • Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience managing social media, digital content, marketing communications, or a related field.
  • Valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital advertising, audience targeting, content optimization, and digital marketing practices.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong professional judgment and ability to recognize sensitive, reputational, customer service, or organizational matters requiring escalation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functional areas and organizational levels while serving as the organization’s digital marketing subject-matter expert.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and move projects from concept through execution and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using digital collaboration, planning, and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency with platforms and tools such as Meta Business Suite/Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Canva, Hootsuite, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable digital marketing and creative platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to appear on camera for social media content and represent the organization in a professional manner.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including youth, volunteers, staff, vendors, community partners, and the public.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends) to capture content as needed.
  • Ability to travel throughout the 28-County jurisdiction using personal automobile for work purposes.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time operating a computer, including navigating websites, software platforms, spreadsheets and both electronic and paper documents.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer.

Occasionally positions self to maintain files in file cabinets.

May need to move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across office for various needs.

The ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.

Ability to work some nights and weekends.

Is required to drive/ operate an automobile.


Work Environment

Constantly works in an indoor professional office environment. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
