The Opportunity:

As a Global Marketing Automation Manager, you will act as a Marketing Automation Product Owner, playing a pivotal role in Roche Diagnostics Solutions Marketing & Customer Insights (M&CI). Reporting to the Subchapter Lead for CRM & Digital Sales Enablement, you will work closely with the Marketing Automation Product Manager (PM) and the Marketing Automation team, with an immediate focus on ensuring that the commercialization objectives are met via Salesforce Marketing Cloud and affiliate engagement. You will own the backlog for marketing automation improvements, both technical and user-focused, driving strategic direction and operational excellence for our global marketing automation platform. This role is integral to integrating Marketing Automation capabilities with the rest of the MarTech ecosystem, facilitating effective solutions that lead to commercial success and sales enablement for our affiliates.

Technical Responsibilities:
  • Administer and optimize marketing automation campaigns, ensuring affiliate access, education, utilization, and support.

  • Maintain and continuously improve internal processes, such as CRM data pipelines, automations and audiences, documenting these processes and communication plans.

  • Provide marketing automation education and support to leadership, internal marketing teams, and business stakeholders.

  • Develop email best practice templates, facilitate analytics on email performance of campaign journeys, and ensure adherence to best practices for patient and customer journeys to drive customer experience.

  • Responsible for effective project and product management to support global marketing strategies and tactics, including providing direction to internal partners and external agencies, managing project timelines, project measurement, and tactical execution.

  • Lead cross-functional end-to-end process discussions involving IT, Business, and Voice of the Customer teams.

  • Provide functional knowledge and expertise to integrate Marketing Automation capabilities within the broader MarTech ecosystem.

Affiliate & User-focused Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a strategic partner to affiliate marketing organizations, providing solutions that meet business objectives.

  • Work with key stakeholders (mainly Marketing, Sales, and IT teams) to build contextual transactional and commercial emails, leveraging valuable product data to enhance user engagement and understanding of product, service, or order.

  • Support affiliate marketing campaigns; test and analyze workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

  • Operationalize marketing automation programs to support demand generation, nurture, and retention campaigns.

  • Facilitate tracking and reporting on email campaigns to guide improvements.

  • Provide thought leadership on the use of marketing automation and email best practices.

  • Gather and integrate affiliate and user input to help the Product Manager with roadmap and guide feature and integration development.

  • Own decisions at the intersection of Business & Informatics.

Who You Are:
  • Strong SQL coding skills, Proficient in AMPscript and basic understanding in HTML.

  • Experience with back-end development and technical specifications within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Professional experience in email and mobile marketing, preferably in a global environment, with a successful track record of developing marketing automation campaigns.

  • Innovative and forward-thinking marketer with awareness of the latest trends in email and mobile marketing.

  • Understanding of campaign planning and content creation for demand generation across the buyer’s journey.

  • Preferred Salesforce Certifications or extensive experience with Enterprise Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Journey Builder.

  • Highly creative with proven ability to develop and manage engaging and original content through different channels.

  • Ability to collaborate and work under pressure in a fast-paced matrix organization.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including deadline, vendor/agency, and budget management.

  • Capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Previous experience as a Product Owner and knowledge of Agile ways of working (preferred not mandatory)

  • Possess excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
