Primary responsibilities:  

  Supervise and coordinate digital broadcasting operations across multiple platforms to ensure timely, accurate, and uninterrupted content delivery.  

  Monitor live and recorded digital broadcasts, troubleshooting technical issues and escalating problems as needed to maintain service quality.  

  Lead and support broadcasting staff, assigning workloads, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to operational procedures and standards.  

  Manage digital content scheduling, publication, and distribution to maximize audience engagement and platform performance.  

  Collaborate with production, communications, and technical teams to implement broadcast plans and special event coverage. 

 Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned  

 Contributes to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned  

 As assigned, edits and approves copy and content prepared or written by others for broadcast and/or publication for inclusion in his/her assigned stories  

 Contributes finished products meeting standards to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material and static and motion graphics, as assigned  

 Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed  

 Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines  

 Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements  

 Works independently or as a member of a team  

 Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned  

 Knowledge of Cuba’s history and familiarity with U.S./Cuba relations 

 Other related duties as assigned

Skills Required

  • Fluency in target language (written and spoken).
