Description

Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) seeks a creative and data-driven Digital Fundraising Specialist to lead online fundraising initiatives that drive donor engagement, increase revenue, and amplify our mission. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital marketing, fundraising, and donor relationship management, with a passion for leveraging technology to inspire philanthropic support. This is an in-shelter position. While limited flexibility may be possible, regular on-site presence is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Develop, execute, and manage digital fundraising campaigns, including Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, monthly giving.
  • Create campaign assets (landing pages, donation forms, graphics, copy, etc.) in collaboration with Digital Media Manager. 
  • Coordinate peer-to-peer and crowdfunding initiatives; support fundraiser toolkits and stewardship.

Email Marketing & Donor Journeys

  • Own fundraising email calendar, copy, design, testing, deliverability, and compliance. 
  • Collaborate with Development team to maintain accurate donor data, campaign tracking, and integration between CRM and digital platforms. 
  • Build segmented donor lists and workflows to deliver personalized and targeted messaging (Welcome, Upgrade, Reactivation, Retention).
  • Collaborate with Development team to integrate stewardship content (thank you messages, impact updates, recognition) to cultivate and build support with long-term donors.

Social Media and Digital Ads

  • Develop and execute strategies for leveraging social media platforms to engage donors and promote fundraising campaigns.
  • Design and implement paid digital advertising campaigns on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads to expand reach and drive conversions.

Website Giving Experience

  • Optimize the organization’s website for donor engagement and online giving.
  • Manage online donation pages and forms for usability, accessibility and conversion. Track funnels and troubleshoot barriers to give.  

Analytics and Reporting

  • Track and analyze performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, and conversions) across digital channels to assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Prepare detailed reports and provide insights to guide future strategies.

Innovation and Strategy

  • Stay current on trends in digital fundraising and explore new platforms and tools to improve results.
  • Propose creative ideas for engaging new audiences and maximizing donor lifetime value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in digital fundraising, marketing, or a related role, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Proficiency with digital tools, including email marketing platforms, donor management systems, online giving tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with an ability to craft compelling donor-centric content.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and act on campaign performance metrics.
  • Basic design/editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud) for content production.
  • Passion for HARP’s mission and commitment to making a difference.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector
