About the team:
South China Morning Post (SCMP) is looking for a freelance digital editor/writer to edit and produce stories for PostMag’s digital and social media channels. This position will be an office-based role, two days per week.
PostMag is the South China Morning Post’s weekly Sunday magazine. Across print, digital and social, PostMag offers readers both short-form and long-form content that dives into lifestyle topics across culture, travel, food and drink, wellness and passions.
In this role, you will:
- Write two to three online articles per day on topics across contemporary culture and lifestyle
- Use SEO best practices to optimise content for search engines
- Contribute to PostMag’s social media strategy and content
- Stay up-to-date with digital media trends
- Manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively
Skills and experience and qualities that will lead to success:
- Fluent in English with excellent writing and editing skills
- A love for tight deadlines and quick turnaround
- Demonstrated track record in growing an online audience with insightful, witty and useful content
- Genuine interest in contemporary culture and lifestyle
- Knowledge of SEO best practices preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
