Part-Time Dietary Aide

Little Flower Manor is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to join our team. The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Dietary Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, and as directed by the Director of Dietary. 

Starting rate:  $14.00-$16.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily dietary functions and specific tasks as assigned.
  • Work with the Dietary Manager to implement necessary changes.
  • Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
  • Clean and properly store equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Dispose of refuse daily according to sanitation procedures.
  • Report all accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions, and malfunctioning equipment to your supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean, safe, and attractive manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Assist in the evacuation of residents if needed.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of a 10th-grade education
  • No prior experience is required, as on-the-job training is provided.  
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.  
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with others.  
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.  
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 20 pounds and push/pull equipment in excess of 50 pounds.  
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.  
  • This position requires working every other weekend, and shift times may vary.
  • The seasonal flu vaccine is required.

Physical Demands: The position is considered heavy-duty, requiring standing for most of an eight-hour workday. It also involves frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and pulling or pushing up to 50 pounds. The role requires various physical capabilities, including bending, crouching, standing, and walking. The work environment may expose the employee to hazards such as falls, burns, odors, and dust.
