What You’ll Do:
- Build and manage secure container platform environments that directly support our customer's mission-critical operations.
- Implement key platform capabilities using cloud-native technologies, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing container software and orchestration capabilities (Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher).
- Apply best practices to design and implement containerization processes, aligning with established customer standards.
- Support the adoption of secure container practices, helping clients effectively integrate new tools and approaches.
- Grow your expertise in Containerization, Orchestration, and Microservices while contributing to essential cloud platforms for our clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on experience contributing to the design, implementation, and support of DevOps tooling and robust CI/CD pipelines
- 3+ years of practical experience with containerization technologies, including building secure container images and orchestrating deployments within Kubernetes environments
- 2+ years of experience managing Kubernetes deployments with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux, including a proven ability to develop and customize Helm charts
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)
- Demonstrated experience developing and supporting custom applications in a production cloud environment, understanding the full software development lifecycle
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), encompassing automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management within CI/CD workflows
- Working knowledge of container networking, storage solutions, and advanced monitoring practices within containerized environments
Bonus Points/Desired Skills:
- Cloud Certifications: AWS, GCP, or Azure security or DevOps certifications are a plus
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency in Python or Java for tooling and automation
- Experience with cloud-native monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana, ELK Stack, FluentD)
- Familiarity with various CI/CD tools and migration strategies (e.g., Jenkins, Git, TeamCity)
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby) and experience with configuration formats (JSON, YAML)
- Understanding of foundational system administration and Linux/UNIX environments

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and work days are Monday through Friday in Reston with possibility of moving to Fort Belvoir in the future. Specific work hours are established with Team Lead. Work location may vary, including onsite requirements which are outlined in the requirements and confirmed with Team Lead.
