About the Role
This role requires the candidate to have experience in DevOps applications and server administration, with deep involvement in software engineering processes and tool deployment. The role includes monitoring the productivity and user experience of HARMAN software engineering teams across multiple business units with different functions, focusing on both process and DevOps tools. A DevOps Platform Engineer within the team will be exposed to day-to-day activities such as CI/CD build stages, server application deployment, server maintenance, performance tuning, and reliability optimization (in both test and production environments).
What You Will Do
- Define best-in-class DevOps processes by analysing existing DevSecOps practices and identifying gaps
- Develop scripts and automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, Bash or Linux shell scripting, Possess knowledge of Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and KANBAN and experience using AWS, GCP and/or and Apache and/or Nginx
- Have experience of software development tools, SCM, release management, unit testing, integration testing, software validation, emulators, compilers and software testing
- Responsible for tracking, implementing and leading the team in technical DevOps improvements & Provide training on DevSecOps tools and processes
- Identify DevOps requirements and performance issues using tools like AppDynamics and Splunk , ALM ticketing system to collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Design and implement automated deployment and management solutions for applications on Kubernetes clusters, leveraging Ansible playbooks to define configuration and deployment steps across multiple nodes in a consistent and repeatable manner
What You Need to Be Successful
- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with application technologies such as GitHub, Gerrit, Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence and Artifactory tools
- 5-8 years of experience in CI/CD processes and practices - Build, Test, and Deploy (including SAST code review using Code Sonar and FOSS scanning with Synopsys Detect)
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as JavaScript, Perl, PowerShell, Bash, and Python to automate the CI/CD pipeline
- Good understanding of distributed version control systems like Git, as well as technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Ansible, and Docker for service enablement
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing best practices and automation for the DevSecOps pipeline
- Ability to work with large and complex datasets; proficiency in MS Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) & Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security best practices
