540 is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to help build an API management platform for data sharing across the Department of Defense powered by Apigee and AWS. You will join a team with a mission to create performant and API-first solutions for emerging government requirements including: API enablement of DoD systems, Authentication / Authorization requirements, utilization of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), etc.
As a DevSecOps Engineer you will work to operationalize and enhance environments (Prod and Non-Prod) to support existing and new integrations of various components to the platform, including: installation and configuration of the API management tool (Apigee), installation and configuration of an API Developer Portal, and installation and configuration of Single Sign-On.
Location: Arlington, VA area preferred to support occasional in-person requirements; open to remote within the continental United States with occasional travel (up to 25% expected)
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen that currently possesses a DoD Secret clearance, or has the ability to obtain
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field (preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- 3+ years of experience creating / maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps best practices
- Experience with Configuration Management tools such as Ansible or Puppet
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Firm understanding of networking concepts
- Experience with Git and the Gitflow development workflow
- Experience administering linux systems (specifically RHEL)
- Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI):
- Creating self-signed certificates and certificate authorities
- Creating keystores and truststores
- Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes):
- Working with Dockerfiles to create custom images
- Deploying containerized applications
- Monitoring containerized applications
- Currently possesses CompTIA Security+ or has the ability to obtain within 3 months of employment, in addition to any other required certifications
- Proficiency with macOS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently (as if on an island) with clients, but also be a consummate team player
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience managing web/proxy servers (Apache httpd, nginx, haproxy)
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Memcached, Redis, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch
- Experience with API Gateways (Apigee, Kong, Tyk, etc.)
- Experience deploying applications in DoD or other accredited federal environments that require IA certification and accreditation to deploy
- Experience with securing sensitive data (including security marking standards such as DoD Banner Lines or ISM)
- Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (AWS CloudWatch, Splunk)
