DevSecOps Engineer

540 is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to help the DoD build new proof of concept capabilities for a new and exciting Air Force integration platform powered by Apigee and Google Cloud. 

Location: Remote within the continental United States. Individuals must be willing to work East Coast working hours with some flexibility afforded
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a clearance
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience with the following:
  • Cloud Service Providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Creating/maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps best practices and networking concepts
• Experience with the following:
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Configuration Management Tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc)
  • Git and the Gitflow development workflow
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI):
    • Creating self-signed certificates and certificate authorities
    • Creating keystores and truststores
  • Containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes):
    • Working with Docker files to create custom images
    • Deploying containerized applications
  • Monitoring containerized applications
• Currently possesses CompTIA Security+ CE and has the ability to obtain any other required certifications within 2 months of employment
• Proficiency with macOS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently (as if on an island) with clients, but also be a consummate team player

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience with the following:
  
  • PostgreSQL, Memcached, Redis, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch
  • API Gateways (Apigee, Kong, Tyk, etc.)
  • Deploying applications in DoD or other accredited federal environments that require IA certification and accreditation to deploy
  • Securing sensitive data (including security marking standards such as DoD Banner Lines or ISM)
  • DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
