About the Position:

We are looking for a DevOps engineer to help build, automate, and support the infrastructure and CI/CD systems our engineering and mission teams rely on. Most of our environment is on-prem, with some AWS, so you will work hands-on with servers, pipelines, and the tools that tie them together.

Responsibilities:

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for builds, testing, artifacts, and deployments
• Automate server provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools so environments are consistent and repeatable
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems, including services, permissions, storage, and performance issues
• Deploy and support containerized applications, including testing changes and rolling back when needed
• Set up monitoring and alerting, investigate failures, and fix recurring problems at the root cause
• Check backups and test restores for the systems you support
• Handle secrets, service accounts, and access in line with security requirements
• Document your work so other team members can support and maintain it
• Work with developers, IT, and security on network, access, and infrastructure needs
• Take part in incident response and follow up on fixes

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or systems engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong Linux administration skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems independently
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Comfortable with Git workflows, including branching, merge requests, tagging, and releases
• Scripting in Python and/or Bash to automate tasks, with good logging and error handling
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other configuration management tools
• Experience building, running, and troubleshooting Docker containers and registries
• Solid networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and TLS
• Experience using logs and metrics to track down and resolve issues
• Works well independently, communicates clearly, and keeps others updated on progress

Preferred Requirements: 

• On-prem infrastructure experience with physical servers and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox)
• HPC clusters, job schedulers, or compute-heavy workloads
• Administering self-hosted GitLab and runners
• AWS experience (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3), including GovCloud
• Monitoring and secrets tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, HashiCorp Vault, or OpenBao
• Background in aerospace, test labs, or other regulated engineering environments
