We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer. Your role will encompass a range of responsibilities crucial to the smooth functioning of the Program's IT systems. You will be tasked with performing systems administration on server systems connected to local and wide area networks, ensuring they are operating efficiently and securely. This includes providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, as well as assisting in the managing of the infrastructure and processes related to these systems.
This role resides in our Growth department and reports to our Program Manager. This position is on a customer site in the Annapolis Junction, MD, Washington, DC or Reston, VA location, (to be determined with candidate preference and pending customer approval) with a 10% travel requirement.
SIXGEN supports cyber and intelligence missions by serving government and commercial organizations as they overcome global cybersecurity challenges. Our highly skilled operators conduct research and assessments based on real-world threats. We simulate adversaries and malicious actors to report details and actionable findings on critical assets and infrastructures. Our program planners advise mission owners to bring rapid solutions to intelligence mission leaders. Core Responsibilities:
- Strong PaaS experience
- Experience configuring and managing LINUX operating systems.
- Experience investigating and resolving technical issues.
- Active Security+ certification or other applicable certifications.
- Position requires DoD 8570 compliance
- Experience in troubleshooting complex data analytic systems.
- Experience with Jenkins, Git, Docker, Ansible, and Puppet.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline concepts.
- Technical understanding of big data concepts, cloud technologies such as AWS and Oracle.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience, with an equivalent degree in a related technical field
- Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI with polygraph.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Experience using with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with DevOps pipeline and optimizing code.
- Knowledge of Ruby and/or Python
- Knowledge of Docker or other container tools.

At SIXGEN, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The anticipated salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our compensation philosophy, which takes into account various factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, skills, LCATs rates and position level, and market competitiveness. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation to include our growth incentive program, incentives and benefits. The final salary offer will be determined after a thorough review of the candidate's background and alignment with the role.
