Role:
Card Kingdom is seeking a motivated and skilled DevOps Engineer to join our small DevOps team, offering significant autonomy and opportunities to drive impactful projects. We are running our environments in Amazon Web Services using Kubernetes in EKS, Aurora RDS and other native technologies. This position reports to the Director of IT. You will use your skills as both a systems engineer and software developer to help take our web infrastructure to the next level. If you love architecting, managing, monitoring, scaling and building modern cloud applications, then this just might be the job for you.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and manage Card Kingdom’s web infrastructure using cloud technologies and infrastructure-as-code.
- Configure and support a centralized build and deployment infrastructure
- Mature the CI/CD pipeline to enable teams to scale in a self-service way to help reduce deployment cost and time.
- Automate the creation and configuration of application environments.
- Implement & Improve infrastructure and application monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
- Perform code reviews and engineering discussions to drive the best ideas forward.
- Promote and use best practices with high attention towards security, stability, and scalability.
- Assist developers as needed with security guidance, infrastructure expertise and deployment support.
- Leading incident management and response, including root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures
- Work with developers of all skill levels and help with everything from local development environments through application planning.
- Provide technical assistance to development teams to assist in the adoption and implementation of DevOps practices.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure services are operational and highly available.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a DevOps related position, or equivalent experience in application development and cloud Infrastructure.
- 3+ years of production experience with a cloud service provider.
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- 3+ years of experience with a CI/CD solution and automated testing deployment.
- 3+ years of strong experience with application Containerization and Orchestration in a production environment (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Linux OS administration
- Experience with web application firewalls, OWASP and security best practices.
- Experience with application and system monitoring tools, SLA/SLO configuration.
- Experience with database architecture, maintenance, and tuning (MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch).
- Strong knowledge of version control and git.
- A programming/scripting language (Python, Bash, PHP).
- Experience with agile methodologies and frameworks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of fundamental network technologies (DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, HTTP).
- API configuration and deployment
- An aptitude for new coding languages and technologies.
- Understanding of modern PHP frameworks like Laravel a plus.
- User experience profiling and instrumentation
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

- Exempt/Salary: Range from $120,000 – 140,000 depending on qualifications and experience
