WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY:
This is an exciting opportunity to help our company automate, deploy and secure customer facing cloud solutions using DevOps practices such as automation, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
You will work alongside Software Development, Product and Operations teams to identify and eliminate constraints in the product life cycle.
You will help to develop monitoring and alerting for provisioned infrastructure and deployed software on AWS to support sustained and reliable availability of internal and production systems.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious person, who is not afraid to take ownership, who has strong technical problem-solving skills and who is collaborative with development teams and has a passion to automate away the mundane areas of development and deployment and will keep up to date with current trends in technology. You will be working alongside existing team but will be expected to bring additional knowledge and experience to aid the growth and expansion of the company.
The successful candidate must be ready for potential participation in the on-call rotation schedule and occasional travel.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- 4+ years of experience in similar role (SRE, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer)
- Understanding types of software architecture and software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Solid understanding of network and security concepts and topics
- Experience of AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, Route53, EKS, RDS, CloudWatch, AWS CLI etc.)
- Expertise in usage of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible)
- Skills in working with container technologies (Docker, Docker Compose)
- Competence in container orchestration and related tools (Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in work with Version Control Systems (Git)
- Experience in creation CI/CD pipelines and other automation with Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Argo CD etc.
- Linux OS knowledge and administration skills (Ubuntu, RedHat)
- Proficiency in Python and one or more scripting languages (e.g. Bash)
- Competence in working with monitoring and logging tools (Datadog, LogicMonitor, Prometheus + Grafana etc.)
- SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Neo4j etc.) databases and querying
- Experience of work in Agile Scrum/Kanban environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Experience of producing technical and procedure/process documentation
An additional advantage will be experience with JFrog Platform / Artifactory artifacts repository management solution, as well as message queue systems (Apache Kafka, AmazonMQ/RabbitMQ)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and Systems or related is desirable but not essential.
GOOD TO HAVE:
- Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected framework
- SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Neo4j etc.) databases and querying
- Experience with VPN solutions (OpenVPN)
- Communication tools configuration and administration (Mandrill, Twilio)
- Data Engineering and Analytics solutions (Databrics, Apache Airflow etc.)
- Identity and access management tools (Keycloak)
- Industry standards awareness for compliance (ISO, CIS etc.)
