Faktion is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help deploy, scale and maintain our projects, apps and platforms.
As an Azure DevOps/Cloud Engineer, you build scalable and future-proof platforms by combining infrastructure, security and automation.
Some key responsibilities:Set up and automate CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for builds, tests and deployments
Manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Azure (and in the future AWS) with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep)
Containerise and roll out ML services and Node services via Docker and Kubernetes
Monitor and resolve performance and connectivity issues
Think about infrastructure architecture, networks, continuity and disaster recovery
Design and enforce cloud security controls: network segmentation, private endpoints, WAF, RBAC/least privilege, and secret management with automated rotation
Build and maintain observability: centralised logging, metrics, tracing (OpenTelemetry), dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, and actionable alerting
Cost monitoring and optimisation of resources
Make clean documentation/architecture diagrams
Proven experience managing Node.js services in production, with skills in containerization, Docker image optimisation, and diagnosing performance and memory bottlenecks.
Networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls, and private networking patterns
Disaster recovery: backup strategies, restore drills, recovery
At least 5 years of experience in architecture, infrastructure, DevOps and/or Azure
Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep for the rollout of cloud infrastructure (AWS experience is a plus)
Practical experience with Azure DevOps and Docker
Understanding of the software development lifecycle
You can work independently and take responsibility

Experience operating data/queue services from an SRE perspective

Skills Required
- At least 5 years of experience in architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, and/or Azure
- Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep for cloud infrastructure deployment
