We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with experience in Database Administration to join a team to develop, maintain, sustain, deploy, and provide database administration for a web based application to track supply chain weaknesses for emerging technologies. The chosen candidate will also be responsible for scheduled updates to the customer and must be able to work with project leads and software developers in support of the project.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the readiness of databases necessary for production. The candidate will also be responsible for performing database software and maintenance for multiple databases used in production, to include enhancing automation, improving deployment efficiency, and ensuring the security and reliability of software releases.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
An understanding of web application development processes to include frontend and backend development and deployment
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Strong communication and organizational skills
Required Experience:
Experience in agile software development
Experience with web-based frameworks (ex. Django)
Experience with Gitlab or other version control software
Experience with relational (MySQL) databases
Experience with bug/issue tracking software
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Database security experience, management and maintenance
Automating build, test, and deployment workflows
Desired Qualifications:
Containerization and deployment experience using Docker, Podman, Nginx, CRI-O, or similar
Managing CI/CD pipeline configurations
Recommend solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications
