We are looking for a Device & SIM Engineer to join Webbing’s team, working hands-on with IoT and consumer devices, SIM/eSIM technologies and Webbing’s global cellular connectivity solutions.
This is a technical and hands-on role. You will own device onboarding activities end-to-end, troubleshoot connectivity and interoperability issues across devices, SIM/eSIM and mobile networks, and work closely with customers, device vendors, and internal engineering teams.
You will also work with SIM vendors on existing and new SIM/eSIM capabilities, including applets, configurations, and new services.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the device onboarding process end-to-end, including connectivity testing, troubleshooting, debugging and test report preparation.
- Test and validate IoT and consumer devices across Webbing’s connectivity solutions.
- Investigate device connectivity and interoperability issues using device, SIM and network traces, working closely with the Support and Network teams.
- Run and maintain the Webbing lab as an isolated infrastructure.
- Build verification plans, define test scenarios, and execute test cases for new devices, SIM/eSIM configurations, and services.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners and R&D to improve existing Device & SIM solutions and validate new products, features and technologies.
- Work with SIM vendors on the improvement and validation of existing applets, development of new applets, SIM/eSIM configurations and new services.
- Support the investigation and validation of SIM, eSIM, OTA, Entitlement, and Remote SIM Provisioning.
- 3+ years of experience as a Cellular Device Testing Engineer, Cellular Network Engineer, or in a similar technical role.
- Good understanding of cellular architecture, call flows and mobile network procedures.
- Familiar with IP networking protocols.
- Hands-on experience with trace and network analysis tools.
- Ability to build verification plans, define test scenarios and execute test cases.
- Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues across devices and cellular networks.
- Experience with Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) and understanding of GSMA SGP.02, SGP.22 and/or SGP.32 architectures.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Experience with device and SIM trace/log analysis tools such as QXDM, TEMS, COMPRION, or similar.
- Experience with SIM/UICC/eUICC configuration and OTA technologies.
- Experience with cellular radio interfaces and radio-related troubleshooting.
- Experience working with different IoT modules, smartphones and other cellular device platforms.
- Experience working directly with SIM/eSIM vendors or device manufacturers.
- B.Sc. in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
