About The Position
Pixellot is redefining how sports are captured, produced, and consumed our AI-powered cameras, automated production, and streaming platforms turn any court or field into a broadcast-ready venue. Millions of games are filmed, streamed, and watched through the apps this role owns.
We're hiring a Development Team Lead for Consumer Apps to lead the team that builds every application surface Pixellot's users touch, fully end-to-end mandate web, mobile native (iOS/Android), and the backend services and APIs that power them.
You'll lead a team of 6 engineers, own the technical and delivery roadmap for several product lines, and sit close to the business to make trade-off calls that hold up in front of customers, partners, and leadership.
As part of your role, you will:
- Own structure, mentorship, hiring and day-to-day delivery for the applications team.
- Set the technical bar: code review culture, architecture decisions, engineering standards.
- Stay hands-on — write and review code, unblock hard problems, and be the escalation point.
- Lead agentic development across the SDLC: design, coding, testing, deployment, sprint management.
- Drive architecture end to end — web, mobile, SDK, backend, APIs — supporting both app and platform modes of operation.
- Own app performance, reliability, release quality and the mobile app store lifecycle.
- Balance consumer product work against the operator and admin tooling our customers depend on. Both matter; neither should starve the other.
- 7+ years in software engineering, with 2+ years leading a team, ideally across both web and mobile.
- Track record of owning a consumer or B2B2C/B2C application end to end rchitecture, app-store release, post-launch iteration.
- Hands-on production experience with React or Angular, native or wrapped mobile, Node, Mongo or Postgres, Kubernetes, AWS, CDNs, at meaningful scale.
- Experience with event-based product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Segment) and ensuring the app meets business requirements for analytical insights.
- Comfortable operating as one team among several, with shared platforms and contracts you don't unilaterally control.
Bonus points if you have:
- Sports tech, streaming/OTT, media, or another latency and reliability-sensitive consumer domain.
- Exposure to camera or video pipelines, streaming protocols, or edge devices.
- Real Impact: Your work directly affects millions - from parents watching Friday night games to coaches gaining competitive advantage.
- Technical Challenges: Real-time video on a global scale, consumer apps balancing simplicity with power, AI features that feel magical.
- Strong Team: Work closely with experienced R&D leaders and strong engineers who think deeply about customer problems.

What We Do
Today, millions of sporting events take place annually; however, 99% are not broadcast. These events range from local youth and women’s sports to lower leagues in popular sports and even professional leagues in niche sports. Pixellot’s automated sports production solutions revolutionize traditional video capture, production and distribution processes, enabling professional and amateur sports organizations to affordably cover and monetize their events. Pixellot’s technology streamlines the production workflow by deploying an unmanned multi-camera system in a single fixed rig (with additional angles as required), covering the entire field and delivering a stitched panoramic image. Advanced auto-production mechanisms track the flow of play, identify highlights, create replays and insert advertisements without human intervention. Pixellot's analytics and video editing platform Vidswap allows coaches to save time by breaking down games and get detailed game, team and players stats 4 hours after the game is over. Over 25,000 Pixellot systems have been sold to production companies, sports portals, sports federations, leagues, clubs, venues, and coaching solution providers around the world, including the US, China, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France, UK, Japan, Singapore, Mexico, and other markets
