Action1 is an autonomous patch management platform trusted by many Fortune 500 companies. Cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes, it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party application patching, Action1 helps organizations eliminate routine work, reduce ransomware and security risks, and protect the digital employee experience. It provides real-time vulnerability assessment and remediation across remote and on-site endpoints without requiring a VPN, while peer-to-peer patch distribution reduces bandwidth use on local networks.

In 2026, Action1 was recognized as the fastest-growing founder-led cybersecurity company in America on the Inc. 5000. Action1 is led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into an industry-leading, multibillion-dollar cybersecurity company.

We are looking for a Dev Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for Executive Reporting.

You will combine engineering leadership with hands-on technical expertise to help customers understand patching and vulnerability trends over time through reliable reports and dashboards.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and regular feedback.
  • Own delivery outcomes within the agreed scope, provide practical estimates, and make capacity and priority trade-offs visible.
  • Work with Product Management and the EVP to define priorities and translate customer needs into executive reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, development, and operation of reporting capabilities, including:

- Historical reporting on patches and vulnerabilities.

- The Enterprise Reports Engine and reusable report execution capabilities.

- Dashboard services for presenting trends and status to decision-makers.

- Data aggregation and consistent calculation of reporting metrics.

- Report generation, scheduling, and export workflows.

  • Guide technical decisions within the assigned domain, from solution design through development and production rollout, while coordinating cross-cutting architecture and security decisions with their designated owners.
  • Establish clear definitions for metrics, reporting periods, data freshness, and missing data so customers can interpret results accurately.
  • Coordinate with Product Value and core engineering teams on source data, reporting content, access controls, and shared infrastructure.
  • Own automated pipelines for building, testing, validating, and deploying reporting services.
  • Improve reporting accuracy, query performance, reliability, and observability as customer data volumes grow.
  • Apply AI technologies where they improve reporting development, validation, or interpretation.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Experience leading software engineers and owning the delivery and operation of production systems.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to contribute to technical problem-solving.
  • Excellent knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience building and operating AWS services in production.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting platforms, analytics services, or data-intensive applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling, aggregation, and query performance.
  • Understanding of historical data, metric consistency, and data-quality validation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to align engineering work with product priorities.
  • Professional working proficiency in English for leading an English-speaking team and collaborating across functions.

Nice to have:

  • Experience writing automated tests for data pipelines, reporting calculations, and report generation.
  • Experience with dashboard engines, scheduled reporting, and large data exports.
  • Experience with patch management or vulnerability reporting.
  • Experience with runtime isolation and sandboxing for sensitive execution.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, security, compliance, or data governance.
  • Experience building high-load products that support large numbers of endpoints.

Benefits
  • Fully remote work with flexibility to support your work-life balance.
  • A collaborative environment that empowers you to own your domain and implement best practices.
  • Stable income, benefits, flexible working hours, and opportunities for career advancement.
  • Friendly, professional colleagues who are eager to support you and help you grow.
  • Engaging challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
