This is a hybrid role with 4 days spent in the Kings Langley office.

The position

Global Graduate Programme

The RES Global Graduate Programme is a two-year development programme designed to provide graduates with meaningful work experience, professional development and exposure to different areas of the renewable energy industry.

Starting in September 2027, over the course of the programme, graduates will complete three rotations of approximately eight months each across different teams, functions or business areas. Each rotation is designed to build technical capability, commercial awareness and leadership potential while helping graduates develop a broad understanding of RES and the renewable energy industry. Graduates will work on real projects, collaborate with experienced colleagues and be encouraged to take ownership of their development while making meaningful contributions to the business. Through a combination of structured learning, practical experience and professional development opportunities, graduates will build the skills and experience needed for a successful long-term career at RES.

Rotation 1 – UK&I Commercial

Accountabilities

During your time in UK&I Commercial, you will:

  • Support the development and maintenance of financial models for renewable energy projects, assets and business opportunities.
  • Assist with market, competitor and commercial analysis to inform business decisions and investment cases.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Investment Memorandums.
  • Support the review and negotiation of commercial agreements, contracts and route-to-market arrangements.
  • Work with Development, Construction, Operations and Asset Management teams to maximise project value and manage commercial risk.

Rotation 2 – UK&I Development

Accountabilities

During your time in UK&I Development, you will:

  • Support the development of renewable energy projects from early-stage development through to delivery.
  • Assist with project planning, financial evaluation and investment decision activities.
  • Contribute to landowner and stakeholder engagement and cross-functional project coordination.
  • Help maintain project documentation, reports and development plans.

Rotation 3 – EMEA Commercial

Accountabilities

During your time in EMEA Commercial, you will:

  • Support the development and review of financial models, valuations and investment cases across multiple countries and business units.
  • Assist with commercial, market and strategic analysis to support decision-making across the EMEA portfolio.
  • Support bids, tenders and strategic initiatives by providing analysis, reporting and commercial insight.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across EMEA to understand different markets, regulatory environments and commercial approaches.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Interest in expanding your knowledge of the renewable energy industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to adapt to your different placement cycles with ease

Qualifications

Expected to have completed in the last 2 years, or be on track to complete in Summer 2027, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, Commerce, Economics or Finance. Applicants should demonstrate strong academic performance (2:1 classification or equivalent preferred), commercial curiosity and a genuine interest in the renewable energy sector. A master’s degree is advantageous but not essential.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree completed within the last two years or expected by Summer 2027
  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, Commerce, Economics, or Finance
  • Strong academic performance, preferably a 2:1 classification or equivalent
  • Commercial curiosity and genuine interest in the renewable energy sector
  • Excellent communication skills
