SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting fundraising, donor engagement, marketing, and communications initiatives that advance the Clinic's mission. This position coordinates annual giving activities, grant support, donor stewardship, communications, and community engagement while maintaining accurate fundraising records and developing compelling communications across multiple channels. The expected time split is approximately 50% development and 50% communications. The position works collaboratively with colleagues across the Clinic to strengthen relationships with donors, volunteers, patients, families, and community partners while increasing awareness of Children's Clinics and its impact. This position reports to the Director of Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Development

  • Coordinates the development and execution of two multi-channel annual fundraising appeals and assists with additional fundraising campaigns and special projects as needed
  • Serves as the internal liaison to grant writers by coordinating proposal development, collecting and synthesizing program data, and supporting grant reporting requirements
  • Conducts prospect research using available resources, identifies prospective donors and partners, and maintains accurate donor and prospect records within the organization's CRM
  • Processes charitable contributions in the CRM, ensuring compliance with the Clinic's gift acceptance policy and fundraising best practices established by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and other applicable standards
  • Prepares and coordinates timely donor acknowledgements, including personalized correspondence and other stewardship activities that foster meaningful donor relationships
  • Supports implementation of annual and ongoing donor stewardship initiatives designed to strengthen donor engagement and retention
  • Collaborates with the Director of Development and Chief Administrative Officer in tracking fundraising progress and supporting annual fundraising goals
  • Performs other development-related duties as assigned

Communications

  • In partnership with the Director of Development, develops and coordinates implementation of the Clinic's annual marketing and communications plan through digital, print, and community outreach initiatives
  • Coordinates website content updates, works with external web development partners as needed, and assists with website enhancement and redesign projects
  • Plans, creates, schedules, and monitors content across Children's Clinics' social media platforms, developing engaging content that increases community awareness and audience engagement
  • Coordinates media relations activities, including distributing press releases, responding to media inquiries, and facilitating interviews and media opportunities in collaboration with organizational leadership
  • Coordinates production of internal and external newsletters and other recurring communications
  • Serves as project coordinator for the Clinic's annual Community Impact Report and develops additional marketing and communications materials as needed
  • Represents Children's Clinics at community outreach activities and special events as assigned
  • Performs other communications-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, donor stewardship practices, and ethical fundraising standards
  • Knowledge of marketing, communications, branding, and social media best practices
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences, including patients, families, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and communicate compelling stories while maintaining patient privacy and obtaining appropriate consent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business applications
  • Experience with donor database systems such as Bloomerang or similar CRM platforms preferred
  • Experience with communications and design platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools preferred
  • Experience managing website content using a content management system (CMS) preferred
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred

Experience: 

Three or more years of related experience required

FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE

Employees are required to maintain a current Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. Proof of a current fingerprint clearance card must be received within 90 days of employment.
