Details:
- Paid, full-time summer internship
- The internship period is June 8, 2026 - August 14, 2026
- Must be based in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate for the duration of the internship period
- Will be required to work in person from the office located in the Domain
Responsibilities:
- Make initial contact with strategically identified landowners, research contact information, negotiate financeable terms, advance negotiations with landowners and their attorneys, and maintain positive working relationships;
- Site due diligence and factual research into land attributes and project constraints (such as real estate title, political, local, environmental, and project development issues);
- Ability to strategize site control expansion/optimization, with an understanding of solar development site suitability and applicable government incentives;
- Learn priority legal terms for company site control agreements and liaise with legal counsel;
- Prepare presentation material for landowner and elected officials in collaboration with the marketing and communications team;
- Develop and own relationships with external project stakeholders, including landowners, local authorities, and consultants;
- Own project status tracking and provide regular reporting to the regional development lead;
- Navigate permitting processes within project communities and communicate requirements to relevant project stakeholders;
- Support due diligence for development or acquisition projects, including summarizing project facts, perceived risks, and opportunities, including quantitative assessments;
- Support and fulfill tasks in alignment with established development budgets and schedules;
- Communicate with local community stakeholders about the company's background and development plans;
- Support overall development of utility-scale projects to the successful start of construction, working with in-house and external subject matter experts;
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Key Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or industry equivalent and/or working towards a graduate degree is desirable;
- Prior internship experience and land acquisition, project development, or other renewable energy field preferred;
- A strong interest in the renewable energy sector and a passion for decarbonization initiatives;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work well in a team and adapt to an entrepreneurial environment;
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tasks efficiently;
- A proactive and enthusiastic mindset, with a focus on learning and professional development.
