Stock & Pricing support all our Partners by making sure that the right stock is in the right place and at the right price. Be it in physical stores, websites or wholesalers both in the UK and internationally. We do all of this whilst using robust modern development methodologies and tools allowing us to redesign our complex legacy systems into modern new architecture. In retail today, few areas of expertise are as important as this.  

What You’ll Take On:

You will work to design, develop and support both new business solutions as well as our pre-existing mainframe products. This involves all aspects of the development lifecycle and requires a flexible and innovative mindset with a positive attitude.  

You will provide analysis and programming skills in core languages, and gather user requirements and produce sustainable and efficient solutions following Agile methodologies. You will design, code, maintain and support business critical systems which are used 24/7, 365 days a year. You will develop in both a batch and online environment adhering to relevant standards and working closely with our user community to provide both technical and non-technical advice. 

You will be doing all this from our Leicestershire Head Office. What You’ll Bring:

Good standard of English (written and verbal) sufficient to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders and safely carry out the duties of the role. Reasonable adjustments will be supported where required. 

You will be experienced in effectively working in a collaborative manner in a large scale, fast paced environment within a multifunctional technical team.

You will have proven experience working in a Mainframe environment, with solid commercial experience in the following: 

  • COBOL/CICS COBOL
  • ADABAS
  • NATURAL
  • DB2 and SQL
  • JCL 
  • Syncsort/DFSort

Skills Required

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills sufficient to work safely and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a large-scale, fast-paced, multifunctional technical team.
  • Proven commercial mainframe experience with COBOL/CICS COBOL, ADABAS, NATURAL, DB2, SQL, JCL, and Syncsort/DFSort.
  • Experience with Selcopy, IBM Fault Analyzer, APIM, z/OS Connect, WebSphere MQ, XML, JSON, FTP, or ZIP390.
