The UX designer will be responsible for designing the behavior (interactions) and visual interface of new product features based on guidance and research from their product and design peers. You will also have opportunities to iterate on and improve the usability and design of exciting features, flows, and design system patterns. Our product streamlines computer vision and empowers people across a multitude of industries to do amazing things. Although we don't require you to be a computer vision expert, you will succeed in this role if you take a user-centered approach to design and have a deep interest in understanding and simplifying complex problems.
What You Will Do

• Translate product and design research into wireframes, prototypes, user flows, site maps and other artifacts to effectively communicate interaction and design concepts.
• Assess and optimize the effectiveness of new and existing features by actively participating in user research, usability testing, and data analysis.
• Identify and conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and a seamless user experience to complex designs.
• Leverage Plainsight's set of established design and visual patterns to strengthen consistency across our product suite; when necessary innovate and expand standards to create world-class experiences.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams of product managers, marketers, and engineers to shape feature requirements; analyze empirical data, usability findings, market research, and proven UX principles to justify and prioritize these requirements along with the product management team.

Desired Competencies and Experience

• 6+ years experience.
• Experience with SaaS or PaaS enterprise applications.
• Experience designing a product for technical users or highly complicated interfaces.
• Ability to communicate complex information using design tools, including low fidelity to high fidelity prototypes, journey maps, storyboards, service blueprints, task flows, diagrams, wireframes & specs, and presentations.
• Fluency in design and prototyping software such as Figma (preferred), Sketch, UXPin, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools.
• Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups, prototypes, and style guides. Has a high attention to detail and takes pride in their craft.
• Fluency in user-centered design processes, interaction design, and usability principles.
• Ability to solicit feedback, rapidly iterate on designs, and discard or revisit ideas that aren't working.
• Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights.
• A collaborative attitude, excellent teamwork and communication skills, and ability to be a strong partner to product managers and engineers throughout the design process.

This role is 100% remote. Our entire company works virtually, and often across time zones. You will be based remotely and will need to be well-versed in the use of Slack and video conferencing.
