JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an ambitious User Experience / UX Designer to create the next generation of user experiences across a wide variety of products including enterprise software, mobile apps, and smart home device UI. This position will be located at the Global Experience Design Studio in Golden Valley, Minnesota, just 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Our team is nimble and agile with limited hierarchy and lots of ownership. We're looking for someone who is driven, passionate about user-centric design, and willing to get their hands dirty.

In this position, you will collaborate with other designers to create future smart-home and smart-building technologies and experiences. You will work alongside Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering Teams to deliver outstanding digital experiences across software, mobile apps, and on-device interfaces. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical and creative ideas to a design project. An ability to identify constraints, influence stakeholders, and design across web and mobile will be critical to this role.

JOB DUTIES:

• Create fresh, fun, and engaging experiences for software, mobile apps, and on-device UI.
• Design for a multi-touchpoint experience that includes software, mobile apps, and on-device interfaces.
• Create wireframes and experience flow diagrams documenting the user journey and articulating the experience.
• Deliver design specifications and supporting design documentation to developers
• Collaborate with other Product Designers, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Apply visual design treatments and patterns to new design projects
• Partner with product management and developers to find creative solutions to complex problems.
• Participate in user research including usability tests, qualitative research, ethnography, and design evaluation.
• Advocate and drive user-centered design principles across products and features.
• A clear understanding of how software, embedded UI, and hardware integration and how the experience should reflect this interaction.
• Participate in creative concept processes and contribute to project vision and roadmap.
• Stay abreast of and have a passion for customer experience and interaction design trends.
• Provide subject-matter expertise perspective and direction on new interactive technologies innovations as they apply to create user experiences.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree, Certification in UX Design or product design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in UX design, interaction design, software and app design, information architecture, or similar position.
• Expertise in digital design tools, Such as Adobe XD.
• Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and other presentation layer technologies such as flutter.
• A portfolio of relevant work for review is required.
• Any new hire for this position must be vaccinated for COVID-19 by their start date with Resideo, subject to any prohibitions or exceptions under state or local law.
