Job Description

Attention NJ Applicants: In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.
Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help everyone to be more productive and enable innovation.
At our Company, you will create understanding and empathy around user needs, stated and unstated, for the entire product team including designers, product managers, and engineers. You will do so by conducting primary research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our users through methods like interviews, heuristic evaluations, published research and design thinking workshops. Your research will help us create new products and features for our users as well as continually iterating on our existing products. For this position, we are looking for a mixed-methods researcher who is experienced with interviewing and design thinking, and who has partnered with multiple stakeholders in past engagements. This Researcher would lead both generative and evaluative research. The right candidate is an excellent communicator, comfortable in public speaking, enjoys collaboration, and passionate about delivering real world impact for people working within our Company globally.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating design thinking workshops.
  • Facilitating design sprints.
  • Work closely with product teams and ux designers to recommend and conduct appropriate research.
  • Conduct studies that address both user behavior and attitudes.
  • Generate insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate experiences.
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of methods as appropriate.
  • Work cross-functionally within our Company's entire Network.
  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.


A user-experience (UX) designer must have a clear understanding of business goals and user behavior, and be proficient in a wide variety of skills, ranging from psychology to design and technology. Your primary mission will be to understand our business needs and product requirements and transform that understanding using design thinking into user-focused and intuitive products, interfaces, platforms for mobile and web.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct on-site and remote design sprints (Map, Sketch, Decide, Prototype, Test) methodology.
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Facilitate the client's product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Identify design problems and devise usable solutions.
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, new functions and new features.
  • Take a user-centered design approach iterate your designs.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Participate and facilitate in design thinking and design sprint sessions.
  • Able to articulate complex subject matter.


Previous UX Experience:

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience conducting research for enterprise solutions for large companies.
  • 5+ year's experience in applied research for web based applications and mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of a set of qualitative and user-centered design methods.
  • Ability to communicate ideas quickly and clearly to all levels within the organization.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile and application design.
  • Experience with lean product and lean UX research processes and working with agile teams.
  • Experience performing user research on mobile and desktop applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, and an ability to build great relationships with folks all across the organization.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the user experience design process, and how user research is leveraged to improve user goals and behaviors.
  • Ability to articulate user interactions and screen motion through artifacts and spoken word.
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex user research project.
  • Willingness and proficiency in working with remote teams and team members.
  • Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation.
  • Research and showcase knowledge in the industry's latest trends and technologies.
  • Working knowledge, of Sketch, Figma, Miro and Mural.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
