Kunai is a fast-growing digital agency of 120+ people specializing in fintech. Ours is a fully remote team driven by innovation and experimentation, spread across almost every single continent. Over the past decade, we've shipped over 150 products for clients that include Visa, the United Nations, Wells Fargo, Ernst & Young, and TOMS Shoes. Our founders built a previous agency (Monsoon) that was acquired by Capital One in 2015.


This is NOT a position with Kunai. This is a full-time position with a Kunai client.

Because we see credit card debt as the most overwhelming and fastest-growing type of debt, we decided to tackle it first at no charge.


The current system in place for people that are behind on their bills is antiquated and unfair. Making the process psychologically and physiologically taxing for any person. Debt comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms. We understand that everybody has a different financial situation and because of that, Client X is building solutions tailored to each individual, as we grow and scale.


Providing people with the information to achieve financial wellness while destigmatizing debt is what we are passionate about. Life is more than just paying your bills. As a Senior UX Designer, you’ll lead design projects of significant scope, complexity, and responsibility in creative vision, strategy, and execution, meaning limitless opportunities for you to turn your ideas into reality. If you’re someone ready to help #crushdebt and are excited about design for good, this is the role for you. You’ll work closely with teams to frame user needs and behavior, define optimized user flow, and tweak pixels before launch. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary UX, product management, and engineering team to deliver thoughtful and polished design work that is grounded in solid research and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Own the entire end-to-end design process of major features for the Client X product from ideation, to prototyping, to user testing, to a final production that solves customer problems and moves business metrics
  • Design experiences across all of our platforms: iOS, Android, Web
  • Define or contribute to the strategy of multiple product areas
  • Work on 0-to-1 problems as well as 1-to-1.1 projects
  • Partner with Design, Product Team, and Engineering Team and customers to influence the direction and drive features from research to implementation, and advocate for design solutions through presentations, documentation, and prototypes
  • Document detailed interaction models and UI specifications
  • Own design across the entire business by proactively identifying the highest-impact areas for design prioritization, and partner with stakeholders to prioritize
  • Contribute to design team culture and processes as well as providing mentorship
  • Work with our external partners in the short term

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products is preferred with proficiency in interaction design for mobile and web applications
  • A deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative design process including how to develop and use design research, job stories, journey mapping, content modeling, wire-framing, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals to achieve human-centered design solutions
  • Motivated self-starter who can work closely with cross-functional partners in product, engineering, research, and marketing
  • A growth mindset with a willingness to own problems and results, as well as comfort with ambiguity
  • Strong eye for visual design and a passion for design craft
