As a Senior User Experience Designer at Zipcar, you'll help define and drive the future of our user experience as we transform our business across a variety of mobility initiatives. UX Designers play a strategic role at Zipcar, not only envisioning solutions to complex business and mobility problems, but also influencing the product vision and serving as the voice of our members.

What you'll do

  • Problem solve and explore concepts while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards your vision
  • Partner with product and engineering to define the future roadmap for the team.
  • Influence the shape of the product with research and data while executing design work using high quality wireframes, mockups, user journeys, and cross-platform interactive prototypes
  • Advocate for design by sharing your work and presenting cross-functionally, while being able to precisely articulate design rationale
  • Mentor and inspire a team of designers, providing constructive feedback and pushing the quality of the design work
  • Create a unified, end-to-end experience through close collaboration with team members from across the Production and Marketing design teams

What drives success for this role

  • 5+ years of experience working in UX: You're a t-shaped designer with a specialization in mobile, and a broad set of skills across UX, visual design, interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, iOS/Material Design patterns, and design systems
  • Experience designing on multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Mobile web, desktop, etc.)
  • High level of craftsmanship/attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, and Invision)
  • Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team
  • Excited to design a member-focused experience

What tops off the tank

  • Competitive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance and other voluntary benefits through our parent company, Avis Budget Group
  • Generous paid time off, including holidays, vacation, personal, sick, volunteer and Parental Leave options
  • Tax-free benefit for public transportation or parking expenses
  • Bicycle Reimbursement program
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributions
  • Free Zipcar Membership and other employee discounts, including discounts on renting and buying Avis/Budget cars
  • Community involvement opportunities

The extra mile

We encourage Zipsters to bring their whole selves to work - unique perspectives, personal experiences, backgrounds, and however they identify. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer - M/F/D/V.
