DMED Technology Design is the unified design org for 90+ customer-facing websites/apps and hundreds of enterprise products in the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) Technology organization. We are the storytellers responsible for adding “something special” to our consumers’ experience every day through exciting design, artwork, branding and UX globally. We are responsible for driving the product design, user experiences, creative direction, production design, motion design, service design, UX copywriting, UX research and UX engineering. It is our job to create a framework that delivers consistent, creative and innovative user experiences for people – whether they are using Disney’s consumer-facing products, or the platforms, products and tools that help power our business. Crucially, how we do that work must be both imaginative and efficient, allowing us to also free our team devote energy to using design to drive innovation.
The consumer portfolio we get to design for includes many of the most trusted and beloved brands in the world – ABC, ABC News, Disney, ESPN, Freeform, FX, Marvel, National Geographic and Star Wars. These are great products, and our charge is to always imagine ways to make them even better; to deliver happiness and magical moments through artistry and inventive design, reinforcing the emotional connection between consumers and Disney’s brands.
The enterprise portfolio we are responsible for is also critically important – and our colleagues, partners and businesses will be relying upon us to bring the same kind of imagination, ease and consistent excellence to those experiences.
Design Services:
The DMED Technology Design Services team develops the fundamental building blocks and insights that activate a brand's identity, purpose, and expression and enable best-in-class product experiences across the complete user journey. This mission includes the continued development of our Content Creative team which includes Production Design, Motion Design, Visual Design, and UX Copywriting as well as Service Design, UX Research, and UX Engineering teams. We are a multi-disciplinary design team where you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with many design groups and specialties to create innovative products that people love to use.
Job Summary
The Sr Manager, Creative oversees the team of multi-disciplinary designers including Production Design, Graphic/Visual Design, Branding, Motion Design, and UX Copywriting. This team delivers creative contents that goes into 10+ unique brands and 90+ consumer- facing websites/apps as well as hundreds of enterprise products. S/he is passionate about a best-in-class craft, storytelling, graphic design, branding, logo, typography, color and all else.

Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for managing, leading, inspiring, and growing the Creative Team
- You possess a clear vision of the future of Design and have the courage to pursue forward-thinking design solutions
- You will direct a disruptive and innovative approach to define the future of contents across DMED Technology.
- You will provide creative leadership that builds a shared understanding of the holistic design thinking and will be advocate of it
- Your creative work sets an example that all designers want to follow
- You will operate as the primary point-of-contact on strategic initiatives for design leadership and cross-functional partners
- You will be expected to partner with a variety of teams, inspiring confidence that your team will deliver compelling creative outputs that are cohesive, inclusive, and well- informed on time.
- With fellow design managers, you will contribute to the creative ethos of the design team’s culture, community, processes, diversity, and inclusion while setting new standards in excellence
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant industry experiences, of which 5+ years of management experiences
- You have managed, lead, and inspired teams of designers and creators
- You have resource planned and staffed projects and groups based on the available skills to deliver excellent design solutions on time
- You have a comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories, and practices of design leadership
- You are an expert on developing brand identity, typography, color, and iconography; and have worked on delivering all types of content (2D, 3D, retail, digital)
- You have identified and set creative strategies, uncovered insights to improve customer journey, and inspired teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible
- You have brought cross-functional teams together
- You are hungry for innovation, eager to challenge the status quo
- You can communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- You have managed multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously
