Product Designer

This is a part-time remote contract position (15-30h / week) with Pacific Daylight Time core business hours.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Product Designer to join our team on a part-time basis. This contract position will flex between 15-30 hours a week, depending on project needs, and report to our Director of Product Design.

Candidates should possess strong creative, technical, and problem-solving skills and have some experience with front-end development methodologies. Ideal candidates are product designers with a mix of user research, design thinking, workflow, and interaction design skills.

The successful candidate will work directly with our Director of Product Design, other designers, and cross-functional team members, at times also interacting directly with clients and partners to help them work through experience mapping, ideating solutions, and scoping features.

What you'll be doing

• Advocate for user needs while partnering with product leadership to scope product requirements
• Own and craft the end-to-end user journey and product design execution – from concepts and prototyping to testing and delivery.
• Deliver solutions with a focus on a great user experience while balancing client goals, design cohesion, and ease of implementation
• Work closely with engineers in the discovery and hand-off of designs, and to ensure high-quality execution and usability
• Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders verbally and in writing.
• Assist in evaluating development work to verify that all graphic and technical components are displayed and function properly and align with the creative vision and user experience
• Assist in communicating designs and related requirements to the development team and help ensure Jira tickets have sufficient detail
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and techniques, and recommend new tools and technologies as appropriate

Primary Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience, specifically as a Product Designer
• 5+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content, and user research teams
• Proven experience leading digital design for clients; preferably client-facing (experience working in agency or consulting environments is a plus)
• Can speak and write fluently in English with a C2 CEFR rating
• A well-rounded portfolio of client work, demonstrating a strong understanding of client objectives, strategic thinking, and problem-solving
• Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
• Fluent in Figma and component-based design methods
• Strong prototyping skills. You show as well as tell.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
