ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Credit Union partners are a core component in helping us establish the Happy Money Movement. Our Product Designer, Partners will work closely with our Partners team and Credit Unions to create the platform, tools, and services they will use to develop a deeper relationship with their members, diversify and increase profitability for their institution, and help Happy Money members along their journey to financial freedom.

This position is 100% remote (US only)

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE

Partner with Principal Designer to create visual designs and design documentation for Happy Money partner tools and services.

• Create and maintain mid to high-fidelity prototypes for user research and engineering deliverables.
• Contribute high-fidelity visual designs and assets to the Happy Objects design system.
• Get familiar with the Happy Money brand guidelines to produce visual designs that align with the brand.
• Help prepare assets for engineering delivery, ensuring they have what they need to complete feature development.

Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to understand user needs and create user-centric solutions for Happy Money products & services.

• Work with UX Researchers to develop job stories that reflect user needs.
• Work with Principal Designer to update and contribute to storyboard workflows, journey maps, story maps, and other strategic design assets.
• Participate in design thinking and user research workshops and observation sessions.
• Incorporate feedback from Design Reviews, Design Jams (critiques), and user research into prototypes and deliverables.

With help from the UX research team, research and understand how your design solutions meet or fail to meet user needs or expectations.

• Test all of your design work at least once before engineering delivery.
• Look to new and existing research on Happy Money and competitor solutions to influence your designs.
• Never launched a test before? No worries! You’ll conduct and synthesize usability tests on usertesting.com with support from other Designers and the UX research team
• Participate in and observe other UX research efforts like shadowing sessions, interviews, surveys, etc.

Regularly present your work to the design team and internal stakeholders.

• Present your work at Design Reviews to receive input and feedback from key stakeholders and leadership from across the Happy Money organization. 
• Participate in and present your work to your Happy Design peers at Design Jams to give and receive heuristic feedback to improve overall design team output.
