Shift is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join our growing Training Department. You’ll be coming in at an exciting time as our company expands and we develop and launch a scalable training academy. Instructional Designer Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with Content Lead to develop and design courses and curriculum.
  • Edits and develops online learning materials.
  • Works with Content Lead to design learning activities, and assessments.
  • Develops instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
  • Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content.
  • Works with Content Lead to analyze, update, and refine existing online content.
  • Trains instructors, students, and employees in how to use learning technologies.
  • Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
  • Writes scripts for and records video and audio content.
  • Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.

Instructional Designer Qualifications/Skills:

  • Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (360Learning, SAP, Northpass, Lesson.ly)
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills and familiarity with project management software (Asana, Monday, etc)
  • Experience with presentational design platforms (Genial.ly, Google Slides, Powerpoint)
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management and Communication platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, AirCall, Sonar)
  • Technical proficiency in e-learning software (SCORM, xAPI)
  • Familiarity with mobile platform integrations, push pull technologies (iOS, Android)
  • Video and audio editing proficiency (iMovie, Quicktime)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as manage individual responsibilities and assignments.


Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements:

  • BS, MS, or higher degree in instructional design, education, or related field
  • Sales Training and/or Content Creation experience (specific to F&I and vehicle sales)
  • Previous experience in instructional design
  • Experience as a classroom instructor
  • Teaching or administrator’s license a plus
  • Experience with financial modeling is a plus
