Job description
We're looking for a graphic designer who is eager to learn and grow while working
in-house for an iconic brand. As a member of the creative department of the
Philadelphia Inquirer, you'll be a brand ambassador working on a variety of projects suchas: print and digital ad campaigns, landing pages, micro sites, HTML emails, video and animation, events and signage. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator and problem solver who will push our designs to the next level.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Design eye-catching digital media such as: responsive HTML promotions, landing
pages, forms, banner ads, and print media such as POP, special editorial sections, and event signage
• Review design briefs from client and supervisor(s) and gather additional information to clarify creative direction, if needed
• Produce innovative ideas that can be executed on tight deadline and on brand
• Work on multiple quick turnaround and/or ad hoc creative briefs at a time, while also
managing ongoing large-scale projects
• Problem solve to meet the constraints of cost, time and client(s)
• Produce accurate and high-quality work
Qualifications:
• Working knowledge and understanding of print, prepress, web and interactive design
• Well versed in the use of typography and color
• Previous internships and/or work experience in advertising department, agency,
digital or graphic design firm; print experience a plus
• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite
• Basic HTML coding experience
• Previous internship and/or classroom experience utilizing digital platforms to execute
design
• Ability to understand client's needs and identify creative visual solutions to meet
those needs
• In-depth knowledge of printing and web processes
• College degree with art or design focus preferred
