Job Summary:
As a Design Engineer in the tank industry, you will be responsible for designing and developing storage tanks and related equipment used in industries such as oil & gas, chemicals, water treatment, and more. This role involves working with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and utilizing engineering software to create detailed designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Develop detailed designs for tanks and related products based on client requirements and industry standards.
  • CAD Modelling: Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) to create 2D and 3D models of tanks and associated systems.
  • Material Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate materials to ensure structural integrity, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that designs adhere to industry standards, such as API, OSHA, and ISO, and local regulations regarding storage tanks and safety protocols.
  • Structural Analysis: Perform stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and other engineering simulations to validate the designs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing teams, project managers, and clients to ensure designs meet technical requirements, production feasibility, and budget constraints.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOM) for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Problem-Solving: Address design issues that arise during the manufacturing and installation phases, providing engineering support for troubleshooting.
  • Innovation: Continuously look for ways to improve designs, reduce costs, and enhance product performance through innovative approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in designing tanks or similar industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as API 650, API 653, API 620.
  • Strong understanding of material properties, welding processes, and fabrication methods.
  • Experience with FEA software (e.g., ANSYS) for structural and stress analysis.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software for tank design
