Position:           Design Coordinator

Location:          Tirana

Summary: The main task of the design coordinator is to coordinate the entire project development process, based on the guidance of the head of the “Unit” and to continuously inform other parties involved in the process about the requirements and progress of the process, according to the project development phases (from the idea project, the permit project and up to the implementation project).

Main Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the design process according to the defined project phases;
  
• Drafts the design task, for the determination of designers based on the project requirements, financial cost and its duration;
  
• Coordinates and technically assists the Procurement Department for the determination of external collaborative designers, for all disciplines included in the project;
  
• Drafts the technical part of service contracts for projects of all disciplines;
  
• Controls the projects submitted by designers according to the delivery phases defined in the service contract;
  
• Drafts periodic reports on the status of the projects and the progress of the processes in charge;
  
• Monitors design contracts with designers;
  
• Accepts the projects if they are in accordance with (i) the design task (ii) the service contract (iii) the approved plans and permits and (iv) the legal basis in territorial planning and development;
  
• Coordinates and follows the process of preparing the complete project file and technical-legal documentation required for development permits and/or construction permits. Also coordinates the permit application process in cases where this application is made by external contractors;
  
• Coordinates the process of preparing the complete implementation project file, follows the procedures for its submission to the construction site and follows with the contracted designers, the project review procedures to improve its applicability, according to the requirements of the construction site;
  
• Coordinates and prepares the necessary information for the Finance Department regarding the progress of projects and their invoicing;
  
• Organizes meetings with third parties involved in the project and is responsible for following up on the decisions arising from them;
  
• Provides technical support in the preparation of tender packages, based on the project specifications and the design task;
  

Requirements:

• Have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in design / implementation of construction works;
  
• Coordination and organization skills in the design process;
  
• Ability to suggest solutions and make decisions;
  
• Good communication skills and clear expression of ideas and solutions;
  
• Creative skills in design and in suggesting project improvements;
  
• Attention to detail and ability to provide technical solutions to the project;
  
• Critical skills on the details of the refinishing expressed both in the functional and aesthetic aspects;
  
• Ability to work in a team;
  
• Very good knowledge of the English language, other foreign languages would be an advantage;
  
• Very good knowledge of the legislation on planning and development of the territory;
  
• Mandatory use of AutoCAD (in 2D and 3D), MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). BIM programs (such as Revit, Navisworks, etc.) would be an advantage.
