SUMMARY:
Transport patients through and from the Radiology Department. Organize, clean, and maintain examination rooms. Stock radiology supplies. Provide clerical help when needed in the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Transports patients to and from all areas radiology department.
- Uses safety precautions and proper body mechanics when transporting patients.
- Stock linens and other essentials in all x-ray rooms.
- Performs housekeeping duties in assigned areas. Cleans x-ray tabletops and equipment.
- Assist radiologic technologists with procedures when needed.
- Assist chief/charge technologist, Radiology manager, and or Director when needed.
- Promptly and courteously answers phone calls. May assist with office clerical duties as required.
- Has a complete knowledge of RIS, HIS, and PACS systems as they pertain to the Department of Radiology for scheduling patients, retrieving patients' reports, and other office-related inquiries as required.
- Maintains working knowledge of HIPAA regulations, reproduces and releases medical images on film or DVD following the guidelines and policies set forth by PMHD.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to hospital code about dress, personal appearance, and conduct.
- Promotes positive patient/intra-facility relations and a caring environment.
- Attends department/staff meetings as required.
- Follows hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate
- Prefer certified nurse assistant or medical-type training or experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must maintain current BLS certification.
