How This Role impacts Live Oak and its People
The Deposit Portfolio Analyst will play a critical role as part of the Deposit line of business team responsible for managing our portfolio and its financial performance. This role requires a strong analytics background, financial acumen, and a desire to leverage business knowledge and data to evaluate performance. Daily activities will include creating and performing reports and analyses in support of overall deposit portfolio trends, strategy, competitor analysis, and financial performance. In addition, the Analyst will work closely with Deposit Analytics, Finance and Treasury to create reports, develop forecasts, and define performance measurement. Important to this role is a creative approach to complex analyses.
What You’ll Do at Live Oak
Build and review weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance measurement- including deposit account sales and balance performance, site and funnel performance, customer engagement, and service / feature utilization
Responsible for identifying and reporting on internal and external market deposit trends
Work with Finance, Treasury, and Data Analytics to support funds transfer pricing, liquidity / balance sheet management, customer relationship pricing, and deposit portfolio performance
Assist in the development of deposit pricing strategy across interest and non-interest-bearing products
Work with the internal teams to automate and streamline reporting used to support the deposits business
How You’ll Do It
Perform ad hoc analyses as needed
Help prioritize our departmental focus on making informed decisions and measuring outcomes
Work with Marketing to develop outbound customer acquisition and/or engagement campaigns
Partner with internal and external business partners to evaluate new projects and ideas
Develop complex dynamic models and reports to support business decisions
Research and proactively identify trends that could impact the deposit portfolio or related bank financials
Work with treasury team to identify cheapest sources of funding, support liquidity models, or conduct analysis on NII
Work with FP&A team as needed to support budgeting decisions
Serve as a subject matter expert on deposits as it relates to strategy, interest rate, and portfolio trends
Communicate ideas and recommendations for deposit strategy using quantitative and qualitative support
Required and Preferred Experience
2+ years of experience in financial services, with a focus on finance, analytics, and/or portfolio management
Experience performing financial analysis, building forecasts and business models, sales and marketing analysis, use of performance management databases, and/or developing customer insights
The ability to synthesize various disparate pieces of information to develop appropriate reports, analyses, and information that will support executive decision-making
Effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts in a way that is easy to understand
Strong partnership skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various groups in the organization
History of being able to effectively meet hard deadlines
Bachelor’s degree required and an advanced degree strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as XLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data analysis tools, is required
Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries, perform data extraction and transformation, and work with large datasets across multiple tables is preferred.
Financial analytics and/or deposit portfolio management experience strongly preferred
