About the role

RCN Technologies delivers POTS replacement, managed connectivity, and cellular networking to government agencies, schools, utilities, and commercial customers. The Deployment Project Coordinator owns our strategic deployments from the moment a deal closes until the customer signs off on the install. You are the customer's single point of contact and the person who keeps sales, procurement, the NOC, and field teams moving on the same schedule. Most of your projects will be multi site POTS replacement deployments.

What you will do

Serve as the primary point of contact for customer stakeholders and site contacts throughout deployment: run kickoffs, review scope of work and documentation, schedule installs, answer questions, and communicate status before the customer has to ask.

Take handoff of closed deals from the sales team and own them through delivery.

Meet with sales weekly to understand the upcoming pipeline and build strategic jobs into the deployment forecast, including planned field hours.

Coordinate hardware orders with procurement and finance so equipment is ordered, staged, and shipped to match the install schedule.

Work with the NOC and provisioning team to confirm each site is provisioned and configured to spec before the install window.

Schedule and direct third party field vendors or internal technicians, track completion, and close out project documentation.

Track deployment status, flag risks early, and report progress to the Director of Operations.

Requirements

What we are looking for

2 or more years coordinating projects, installs, or field work, ideally in telecom, low voltage, IT services, or construction.

Strong, professional communicator who is comfortable owning a customer relationship and keeping many contacts informed at once.

Organized and detail oriented; able to run several multi site projects in parallel without losing track of any of them.

Comfortable working across sales, procurement, network, and field teams and holding others to a schedule.

Proficient with Microsoft 365; experience with a CRM, ticketing, or project tracking system is a plus.

Familiarity with POTS lines, cellular routers, or telecom provisioning is a plus, not a requirement. We will teach the technology; we need you to bring the coordination and customer skills.

Why RCN

You will own a growing part of the business, work directly with the Director of Operations, and have a clear path to a Deployment Project Manager role as you take on larger deployments.

About Knoxville, Tennessee
Knoxville, Tennessee is an incredible city on the Tennessee River and at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. We have the culture and many of the perks of southern larger cities without most of the drawbacks of large metro areas.

We've been called "Scruffy City" and "Marble City" and are home to over 20 craft breweries and the 1982 World's Fair. We have a local Ale Trail and countless nearby hiking trails and lakes in the National Park and surrounding counties less than an hour from downtown. We also sport an area five minutes from the city center dubbed the "Urban Wilderness" with many outdoor activities including miles of hiking, biking, a public quarry, river access, and much more.

We have an excellent local public school system and many quality private schools in the city. Our cost of living is significantly lower than the national average, with low property taxes and no state income tax. Knoxville offers numerous cultural events, family-friendly experiences, and is a wonderful place to live.
