The Role

 Deployment Engineer

Kneat enables regulated organizations to move from paper-based validation to intelligent, digitized, paperless solutions. What we’re looking for

As Kneat continues to expand, we are looking for an enthusiastic Deployment Engineer to join our Engineering department.

Position overview

Reporting to our SaaS Operations Manager the Deployment Engineer will help to build-out the next generation of our SaaS platform.

The successful candidate will support Kneat’s delivery of a best-in-class SaaS platform to our customers. They will focus on the day-to-day activities required to deliver, upgrade and maintain the SaaS instances that our customers depend-on. We are seeking a detail-orientated individual with a passion for delivering a quality service to customers. This role would suit a candidate that is at the early stages of their career and is interested in growing their career towards a DevOps Engineer/SRE pathway. Responsibilities

· Execute deployment, upgrade, and maintenance activities on our Customer SaaS environments - the Deployment Engineer is the point person for deploying new instances, executing the upgrade of customer instances to new releases of the Kneat Gx Product, and performing patching/maintenance activities on customer instances.

· Provides consistent updates throughout the lifecycle of the projects to project managers and services leadership regarding the status of the deployment.

· Continuously work to improve the quality and efficiency of our deployment processes.

· Works to automate manual deployment processes to ensure consistency and increase the throughput of the deployment team.

· Partner closely with our Cloud Automation team and Site Reliability Engineering team to support our goal of fully automated deployments and upgrades.

· Will be required to occasionally work outside core hours to minimize the impact of downtime to customers.

Minimum qualifications

· A high-level of technical fluency - an ability to efficiently use online documentation/resources and a logical problem-solving approach to pick up new technologies.

· Experience of working with cloud environments would be a significant advantage (preferably AWS, but Azure and GCP also considered).

· Some System Administration experience, preferably working with technologies such as Windows & IIS, Linux & Nginx, and SQL Server.

· Scripting experience, preferably using Powershell or Python, and experience with Git.

· Outstanding writing skills to document determined outcomes and defined processes clearly.

· A passion for quality and the ability to accurately follow documentation to ensure the consistent deployment of customer environments.

· Knowledge of the infrastructure components that support a modern Web application architecture.

· Ability to manage multiple projects, multitask and effectively prioritize conflicting assignments with minimal supervision.

· Excellent communication skills working with other teams including DBAs, Dev, and Customer support

· A strong sense of ownership, passionate, fast learner, detail oriented, analytical mindset, perfection seeker.

Nice to haves

· Ability to have a positive impact on team members and communicate openly and directly to individuals or groups at all levels.

· Experience working with GxP practices a bonus.

· Familiarity with DevOps technologies - CI-CD stacks, Terraform, Kubernetes, containers
